  1. what a motivational story. I often wonder (or let me say people make me wonder) if I am making the right decision and I know in my heart that I am. Thanks for sharing your success!
  2. Ive read that you could have the surgery on Friday and be back at work on Monday but even if I could, I would take more time off. I am taking two weeks off just so I know I will be ready. I have a desk job but I dont want to rush or push myself so I think two weeks should be fine.
  3. I know. I went back and forth about weather to wait or not to wait. I am really not that patient but I have been planning this trip for over a year and want to enjoy it and not be on a liquid diet!
  4. I have AETNA and I was just informed that I am approved. I have delayed the actual surgery until I come back from our family reunion in August but my official surgery date is August 14, 2013. Sooooo excited
  5. I went to go get my bloodwork done and my A1C was elevated. They said they now need a clearance letter from my endocrinologist. Well my endocrinologist will not sign off on it until I get my numbers down. I have been trying for a month now to get them down and I am not having success. It is not from a lack of trying. I am exercising, eating the right foods ect. I have my last doctors visit next week and then they will be submitting the paperwork to my insurance company for approval. I am very worried they will deny me based on my bloodwork. Has anyone else had any similar situations and what was the outcome?
  6. I am not a big fan of weight loss surgery. That is just flat out honest. I was diagnosed with diabetes and some way I need to get this weight off of me because just dieting is not working. When doing research I saw that the lapband was the least invasive. It also cost me the least out of pocket and it is reversible. Those are the top three things that made we decide on the lapband. I have one more doctors visit and then info is sent to my insurance for approval. Fingers crossed!
  7. I am with AETNA. I am two months into my 4 month requirement. I lost my psychiatrist paperwork so I called to get the number and was advised that if I did not show signs of depression or were on depression meds, I did not have to go. I only have two years of weight history with my doctors but am hoping and praying that because I am a diabetic and on high bp meds, I will still be able to get approved.
  8. Aww thanks for saying that. Im in tears.
  9. I am in the early stages of the lap band process. Anticipated month of surgery is July. I want to start now, adjusting to the after surgery behavior. I am finding it hard to take smaller bites and chew thoroughly. my fear is it this behavior will continue after I get the surgery and I wont lose any weight, any suggestions?
