  1. Jackson hole wy? Tell me more please...
  2. Santa Fe- a few years ago, Nathalie's, cowgirl restaurant SPICY food, Indian market, adobe style homes, great galleries, found a beautiful silver belt, n'orlens- Mississippi queen paddle boat, funeral procession, black umbrella, beniets and hot chocolate- love your poem pretty thick! Ate gator tail salad for the first time there.
  3. Many years lived in ca. And Az, so... Sounds jaded, been there, done that and both suggestions are awesome- I agree. Vermont...hmm tell me more please, any particular area / town?
  4. I vote Asics . Clarks, Merrill .
  5. You are right, there are so many things! I have traveled to almost every state, but much of that was on a highway, I think we are looking for something outside of Florida, our hobbies are outdoor. Maybe shake it up, not do any of what we normally do. A unique town maybe, someplace beautiful, bike trails town or walk. Historical is always good, quirky is excellent! We love new adventures. Waterfalls? Special hotel? Amazing architecture?
  6. Need some ideas! Since we are from every part of the country, where in the USA, where is that best kept secret vacation of your dreams?
  7. Bella cucina blender and Lap Band talk. I really benefited from reading post of Carolina Girl,Missy, B52, Joanne, Jim, 2muchfun, without this forum, I would have been very isolated. While the doc was my final answer, you all have helped more than you know. Many Thanks!
  8. Sadly true... But what fun I am having buying heels again! Whoo whooo! And yes, thick hunting socks -smart wool are my faves for the many pairs of boots that I refuse to give up!
  9. Don't give up! Each adjustment will get you closer to where your green is. This takes time, patience and while you have that time between adjustments- use it to learn to work with your band. Try to remember, this is your new banded life and while there are times when it's one step forward, two steps back, you are making progress. It's not just the numbers on the scale, it's a new healthier way of living. It's the freedom of movement again! Measure out your daily food allotment suggested by your doctor- then do your best to stick to it today. We are all in this together, we are all here to support you! Your green zone will be here before you know it, and you'll be wondering "am I green yet?"
  10. Big believer in things happening (or not), for reasons we don't always understand at the time. Having a family who talked about weight everyday growing up, I am reluctant to not only bring up the subject, but rarely participate and change the topic ASAP. I would like to stay focused on the person not their size. Comparisons inevitably lead to dissatisfactiion, imagined or real, and hurt feelings. As someone who works daily on her character, I find it offensive that what most people see and judge is exterior. What sparked my wls surgery journey? Being cut to the core of my very being by words that felt like a knife. You can't take words back!
  11. There is no better time to start detoxing then right now. You know what you need to do, just do it. When you begin to make positive changes, you will feel better about yourself. Feeling better about yourself translates into confidence. You've got this' choices made minute by minute, hour by hour, meal to meal. You have your tool, make it work for you. Make today better than yesterday.
  12. I'm still laughing! I feel like there are a lot of happy frogs here! ????????????????
  13. Thank you soooo much for sharing this! Feel better soon!
  14. Just wish more people were interested in raising other people up, instead of tearing them down. Focus more on what we have in common, rather than spotlight and hate the differences.
  15. What a great idea regarding the cable!
  16. I stayed up late to watch it. It made me feel sad, made me feel anxious. My emotional trigger was set off, wanted to numb my feelings with food . I read a very timely post on this forum about meditation and emotional hunger. I used those techniques last night, it worked for me.
  17. For me, the green zone or sweet spot, made the hunger aspect disappear. I am on the tight side in the morning and can eat more as the day goes by. If I am busy, or just intent with something I am doing, it would be easy to forget to eat, something I have never experienced in my life before. I think anyone can eat high calorie items like cake & ice cream, but like Carolina Girl says, just because you can, does not mean you should. Its more a feeling of eating to live, not living to eat. I hope you both reach your green zone! Feel satisfied, and not deprived! Eat your protein first! Good luck!
  18. I'm not sure what others mean when they say bandster hell, but, the most difficult thing for me to do is understand what a "normal" portion size looks like. It's much smaller than I ever knew. Add into that, emotional or head hunger- it is challenging to really listen to what my body is feeling, when satisfied, when I'm just thirsty. The growling, burping and weird noises.. Lol! Probably something you have to get used to- it no longer means hungry!
  19. Hi Erica! Sorry you are not feeling well! With any luck (?) you've just caught a bug, I'm so sorry you have this happening. Wednesday is not too far away, I hope you get an answer. We are sending positive thoughts your way, let us know how it goes! At any rate,, the vomiting alone likely irritated the stoma, so hopefully, you will feel better quickly. Best wishes!
  20. Hope it is for you too! Good luck!
  21. Wow. Give yourself a break. Even though you are healing well, I don't think very many banders drop a lot if any weight this soon, in fact, I along with others, gained. It wasn't due to over eating by any means. Take a few breaths, follow the advice of your Doc. From what I read here, many folks don't notice a huge difference in restriction after the first conservative fill. Ultimately, with work on your part, with a properly adjusted band, you will achieve your goal- it is a partnership, as with any relationship, it requires patience, and persistence . Good luck- I'm so envious you are going to Italy! One day, that will be me!! Enjoy every minute!
  22. 11:30 pm.....hope I'm still awake! Lol! Thanks for the heads up!
  23. Big hug sweetie! Hoping that when the day comes, you will be confident with your decision and looking forward to all the things you can do!
