I have struggled with my weight since I was a teenager. After four children, my weight kept increasing. I decided to have gastric band with plication surgery after trying numerous diets and shakes to lose weight. I have a daughter who is seven and I want to be able to be active with her as I get older. I know a few people who have had other types of weight loss surgeries and they have been successful. I feel this is important for my overall health and well being. I don't want to become diabetic and have to use a sleep apnea machine at night which is the direction I was headed if I didn't change something. I have found that weight loss surgery is not an easy fix. I have had to watch what I eat, make good choices, and most of all, exercise. The weight will not just disappear, you have to take an active role in making life changes to get healthy.
