  1. Im 8 days post op, and Im down 14lbs. I think there are some very important facts we all need to remember. First, the scales are our enemy! Most want to weigh in daily and expect losses but as many have pointed out we are losing sizes and not always weight. Either way we are getting where we want to be. Second, we didn't put the weight on overnight, and cannot expect it to come off overnight! This is a journey (marathon) not a instant fix (sprint)! Keep the faith, stick to your plan, and stay off the scales! We all will get there, but at different paces! We just have to remember why we made this choice, stick to our decision, and WORK at it!! We all knew going in this is a TOOL to assist US not a instant cure for being fat!!
  2. Sorry I'm late getting back to you but I just feel up to posing comments. Such little sleep last night do to pain, walking, and gas. I finally got some sleep today, and feel rested. Dr. said I did great and looked great this morning and discharged my this evening. I'm home resting comfortably and on my Clear liquids. I was never so happy to get popsicles! Hope you're doing well!

  16. Ballermom I meet with my surgeon tomorrow. So far I am not on any pre op diet. Im sure I will be given more instructions tomorrow, but my Weight Loss Center said I didn't require losing weight to shrink my liver unless over a 60 BMI. I find all these different posts interesting on the differences in procedures. My surgeon told me they lower the head of the operating table and that moves everything out of the way and allows an easier and quicker surgery. I will update more after my appointment tomorrow. In the mean time I have been watching portion sizes, and calories to maintain; but enjoying some last "favorite" meals before surgery. I want and need the change, but no since having it without enjoying a few last meals I will have to do without.
  17. Adoptmom2_3 you have come way to far to let yourself down now!! Snap out of it and get with the program!! We are all here for the same reason! We decided to make a stand and take our lives back! Don't give into temptations, and remember why you started this to begin with!! Now get back on track, and let us know any way we can help YOU!
  18. I had my endoscopy done today, and should be clear sailing now to surgery at 11:00 on the 27th. Looks like we have quite a few on the 27th! :-) I'm so stoked!!
  19. Care First Blue Choice is my insurance company. I've been going through Meritus Weight Loss Center, and they have been fantastic to work with and handled everything. I did my 6 months nutritional visits and lost maybe 8 lbs. I have lost a total of 21 now but got approval prior to losing the other 13 lbs. I hope and pray you all are able to get approval! Keep fighting and don't give up till you get approval!
  20. I lost 21 pounds by choice. My insurance approval is by BMI and the 6 months waiting period with nutritional visits. I had heard Dr. required losing at least 10 lbs to shrink liver but my Dr told me when I asked that he lowers the head of the table which moves liver out of the way and makes surgery easier. I was told its good to lose but as long as you maintain you can get approval. Not sure if this applies to all as most insurances seem to look for any reason not to pay. Im fotunate that my insurance pays 100% once deductible is met. Just have to have a BMI over 50 I think it is. My insurance changed it after I had started but I still met it and got approval first time after my last nutritional appointment. I had my last appointment on the 18th of January and got approval and surgery date of February 27th.
