  1. Hi, I am preparing for a trip to the mountains (approx. 7,000 ft) next week. It just dawned on me that the higher altitude may have an effect on my band? Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks
  2. Maddysgram- Thank you, I'm hoping my dinner options are something soft and really moist.
  3. Thanks Cheznoel, I will give that a try. I am a bit worried about having to leave the table as soon as dinner starts. Thanks for your reply.
  4. I finally feel like I have the proper amount of restriction. My problem is, my first bite of a meal usually gets stuck for a few minutes. After a few minutes it passes or I will have a PB, then I can eat normally. I talked with my Doctor about it and he said it happens to some people. Has any of you had to deal with this? If so, do you have any tips? I have a 3 day meeting coming up and I am worried that I am going to dealing with this at my business dinners. Thanks
  5. Hi, Thanks everyone for your sound responses. I went to the doctor this morning and he took out .25cc out of my band. Wow, what a difference. Although I'm not uncomfortable, I definitely feel restriction when I eat. Another lesson learned as a new bander Oh I forgot to add that during this little hiccup, I lost 6lbs/2 days. We 'll have to see what happens when I rehydrate.
  6. Phew! Thanks Missy, I didn't know it could happen so fast. Well at least I know I'm getting close. Thanks for your reply.
  7. Hi I was banded in February and have had a few fills so far, 5cc total in my 10cc band. Last month after my fill I felt a little restriction for a few day but eventually lost it. Yesterday I went for a fill and received .5 fill and now I can hardly keep down water. Could I become too restricted with this small fill after not feeling anything or is something else going on here? I called my Doctor and I'm going in tomorrow morning.
  8. Thanks everyone, I guess I will have to develop a very loud cough when needed
  9. Fantastic! Enjoy your success & Kindle.
  10. Hi I have been banded for one week today and have notices after I have my soup or shake my stomach makes some really loud growling, bubbling sounds for about 15 minutes after. Is this normal? and will it eventually go away or is this the way it's going to be?
  11. Thanks for your reply, I could not find any info about this topic.
  12. I think I am one of the few who actually liked the taste of my pre-op shakes (not much I don't like the taste of lol ) but I do like the idea of adding instant coffee to the shake. Thanks
  13. Hi, This is probably a silly question but I'm confused, so here it is. I am in the full liquid stage of my post-op diet and for my mid-day meal I am having a protein shake. Can I drink coffee after my shake or is the shake considered like a "solid"?
  14. Hi Contessa V, I am also getting banded in the Toronto area but not at swlc. My doctor wants me to do 2 weeks on Opti-fast shakes only. I start on tuesday and my surgery is on the 26th. Best wishes.
  15. I am not sure if this has been discussed in the past, but my surgeons' office told me about a food delivery service in Ontario that will deliver pureed & regular healthy frozen foods. Their prices are reasonable and they have a variety of entrees for just about any type of diet. The name is Copper County Foods and they have on-line ordering. I haven't had my surgery yet so I can't comment of the taste. I'll let you know.
  16. Alex, Can I find this in Canada? Amazon.ca does not carry it. Thanks
  17. So happy to hear that it went well, congrats.
  18. Sending good thoughts for you today. Keep us posted.
  19. Hi Bre1621, I am getting banded At by Credit Valley Clinic, Dr. Moffat on 3/26. Could you tell me a little about your experience with them.
  20. Thank you Maddysgram, It's nice to be here.
  21. Hi Everyone, New to the site and schedule for surgery 2/26. I am looking forward to traveling this road with all of you.
  22. Hello there, I will be getting my lap band surgery at the end of February through Credit Valley Clinic. I was wondering if any one knew what their post-surgery diet breakdown is. I have noticed that the amount of days spent in each phase (liquids-mush solids) varies from doctor to doctor. Also if anyone has had their band put in there, I would appreciate hearing about your experience. Thank you
