  1. I'm sorry to hear this. Honestly, I'm concerned about the same thing. I go in for my EGD on Tuesday and it will be a deal breaker for me as well. I wish you the best of luck.
  2. I'm on day 4 and it really hasn't been as bad as I anticipated. The others are right, just keep busy. If you listen to your body you're probably not as hungry as you think. It's the habit of eating. I think it is great practice for after surgery. The band won't help if we keep up the emotional eating habits. I'm using it as an opportunity to retrain myself. Best of luck to you!! I know you can do it!
  3. WoW!! Great job! 4 more days to go! You can do it!
  4. Mine is Feb 5th!!! I'm on my 2 week protein diet too, but the doctor did say I could eat some chicken or fish if I need too. It's been tough, but not as tough as I anticipated. :-)
  5. I'm getting banded on Feb 5th and my doctor stressed the importantace of a very low carb diet for long term success. He explained how the carbs slip through the band so much easier and thus will hind or even stop weight loss. He didn't suggest Adkins per sey, but did make it clear that carbs were to be had in moderation. Obviously, I am far from an expert just passing the Dr.s advice along.
  6. Hey there! I'm also in San Antonio. My surgery is set for Feb 5th with True Results also. Let me know how everything goes! It's nice that there are a few of us out here together!
  7. I started mine yesterday. So far, a little easier than expected. I just went to bed 3 hours earlier than normal so I wouldn't think about eating real food... I think the hardest part was cooking dinner for my family while having a shake. However, I promised my 9 year old girls that they wouldn't starve. haha
  8. My tentative date is set for 2/5! I meet with my surgeon tomorrow and get final approval dates. I have a small procedure to check for a hiatal hernia, which in this case I hope I have. My insurance won't pay for the band itself, but they can combine the surgery and will make it much cheaper!!
