  1. I was banded yesterday and the things that I coups but live without are SF Popsicles, gas x strips, Tylenol. Others love jello, I haven't had any yet but honestly I don't feel like eating anything. Just sipping water throughout the day. Good luck with everything!! Feel free to ask me any questions. A little trick that I have done that helps with incision pain is putting a pillow on my stomach and resting my arms on it. Not sure why but it feels good! Lol
  2. My surgery was yesterday as well. My stomach hurts too! Mainly by my port area. It isn't unbearable, but definitely not comfortable, it hurts most when I'm getting up or sitting down. I have been taking my pain medicine every 4-6 hours which helps but I'm still sore (to be expected). My pain feels deeper too, not just skin deep. My gas pain hasn't been too bad. Walking and gas x strips seem to be helping. Hope you start feeling better!!
  3. Also I had no nausea whatsoever (lucky me). One young that I'm very happy that I did was take a pillow with me for the hour car ride. I held it pressed against my stomach with with arms over top, it felt good!
  4. Mourning food. Oh, yeah I went through that too. I thought about all of my favorite foods in the beginning thinking ill never eat them again. Then I joined my fitness pal and I see banded people eating those foods, in MUCH smaller quantities. Good luck! You will do great!!!
  5. I'm dealing with a little gas pain, incision pain as well. BUT, it's no bad at all (for me). I'm so happy for you! Walking helps so much with the gas! I let out a huge belch earlier and it was glorious! Lol I seriously felt a lot of pressure disappear. I'm glad that you are doing well! You are awesome! Keep it up! I've had 3 SF Popsicles so far !
  6. I used the same pre-op! And will continue to use now that I'm post-op! You can add a tablespoon of Peanut Butter and almond milk for extra protein and its delicious!!! Though I haven't picked any up yet there is a peanut powder PB2 that people rave about bc it's got all the protein/taste of peanut butter without fat and less calories!
  7. I was banded today and so far feel great! I had some gas pain/ incision/port pain earlier. BUT, it was never very bad. I'm just relaxing, sipping on water, eating SF Popsicles, watching the REDS beat the Braves (hopefully!), and walking, walking, walking! When my gas pains were at their worst I walked around a while, took a gas x strip, moved my shoulders around, lifted my arms above my head and moved them around. It definitely helped. But, I realize that I have been very lucky so far! Good luck everyone!!

  10. You're welcome! I wanted to post the good, bad and ugly! I struggled with the liquid diet. It is tough!! I went from eating MASSIVE amounts of food at every meal to a few months later being on a liquid diet. It is a shock. The first few days are hard! BUT, it is so worth it! I got used to it, adjusted and started feeling better. The first few days I felt so weak that I didn't want to get off the couch. By the second week I'm chasing my 5 year old son around the backyard playing flag football, baseball and tag! I felt great! YOU can and will do this too! Good luck! I will help you in ANY way that I can. If you feel like cussing out your dietician or advice on what I did to take my mind off of food, just ask good luck!!
  11. Thanks, yeah the Doc told me the procedure took 21 minutes. He was disappointed, he normally gets it done in 17. I asked him If he felt like giving me a partial refund for those 4 minutes, he laughed. I don't think I'm getting any money haha. I feel great. Very minimal pain. Walking. Water. burping. SF Popsicles are all my secret weapons lol
  12. Thanks everyone, I feel great! Look at feeling weak on pre-op thread for a full update if you would like! Thanks again for the support!
  13. Feeling very good right now! Very minimal pain. Walking around like crazy, sipping water, eating SF Popsicles. I slept for a few hours! Haven't had pain medicine in 6 hours and don't need any right now. I'm starting to wonder if the doctor actually put a band in Lol I did not think I would feel this great! I know it could get worse, but I'm enjoying it for now!! WALKING helps so much!! Burping has never felt so good either! The gas pains hit me earlier pretty hard and I walked, gas x strip and let out a huge belch. Instant relief! On a 0-10 scale my pain is a 1. It hurt worse when I stubbed my toe last week Lol. I have been lucky! Thanks for your support everyone!! I'm excited to progress through healing and start my NEW life!! Good luck to anyone on their pre-op diet, Doc said my liver was great and that made me feel like suffering was so worth it! YOU can do it!! If anyone ever needs to message me privately if you need to talk. I KNOW it sucks, trust me! BUT, I also know that you can get through it!
  14. On my way home. Definitely pressure in my chest/shoulder. But, not too much pain to speak of. I didn't have a hernia. Overall feel pretty good!
