I am even more sorry now. Not good news to come out of anesthesia to. Keep us updated. I'm glad it's just a bump and not a brick wall.- Hi May Sleevers
I got fabulous news this week! My gastric emptying study came back normal AND.....my insurance company Approved my surgery. 5.5 weeks to go. I CAN'T WAIT!!!- Where are my maryland sleevers?
How are you feeling? Have you lost a lot? I hope all is wonderful. Can't wait to hear about it at the next support group.- Where are my maryland sleevers?
I am so sorry!!! I'm sure you are incredibly frustrated. I was very worried about some unforeseen testing, but I got my results and everything came out ok. Did dr g give you an idea of what you need to do, and when he can reschedule?- Where are my maryland sleevers?
I'm happy for you. Congrats.- Where are my maryland sleevers?
How are you feeling? How was the two week preop diet? I am so ready. Had stomach emptying study last Saturday. Waiting for result. So happy for you.- Hi May Sleevers
I keep busy by getting tests and more tests. I also have a sick 11 yr. old at home. He's been out of school since beginning of January. There are many weeks we have doctor appointments every day between the two of us. May feels like a long time away but it will be here before we know it.- Gastric emptying study
Thanks I need to get off the Internet. Now I'm worried I have "Bile Reflux"- Hi May Sleevers
My date is May 8th. I had been hoping for late March/early April, but doctor is totally booked up. I am so ready! I look forward to hearing about everyone's journey. I have had every test under the sun. Doc. Found bile in my stomach during GED so now I have to have another test. I have numerous comorbities some I didn't know about. Almost all can be cured by weight loss. I am excited, anxious, nervous, impatient, and even embarrassed. It's a hurry up and wait process. I'm in MD. Anyone else?- Where are my maryland sleevers?
Hi I am getting sleeve with Dr Gandsas on May 8th. I love the support group. I have met many AAMC employees who have had sleeve or GBP with Dr. gandsas. I'm ready for surgery now, but he is so busy it takes 2-3 months to get on the surgery schedule. I qualified for a March/early April date. Love Arianne, but sometimes Jeannete kinda scares me.- Gastric emptying study
I have to get a gastric emptying study because I had bile in my stomach during my GED (endoscopy.) Anyone else? If I have bile, I can't get the sleeve! First test I'm nervous about. Have my surgery date and EVERYTHING else is done. Ugh!- Newbie in Maryland
Hi I had my GED and doctor found bile in my esophagus. I have to do a "swallow test" to make sure I can get the sleeve. Anyone else have this? Soooooooooo many tests!!! I'm getting frustrated and impatient. Surgery date is May 8th because Dr is getting so booked up. It IS nice to know that so many people are getting surgery. I like going to the monthly support group.- Newbie in Maryland
Hi, I'm in MD too. Just got my surgery date...May 8th. My doctor is very booked up!!! Going to AAMC. Went to Hopkins 2 years ago and backed out because I was doing really well on WW. OF COURSE I gained every pound back. So excited. Haven't told many people because I really think people around here will judge me. I live in a skinny - beautiful people area. I honestly have almost no overweight friends. I have lots of comorbitities so qualifying not a problem, but surgeon had me do every test under the sun. I can't wait!!- Where to start?

Thank you! I'm already looking forward to the day I can offer kind, encouraging words to someone else.- Newbie
Hi, I'm following the directions and introducing myself. Obviously didn't get morbidly obese by following the directions. BMI 39.5 with several other "qualifying" health issues. Went through entire process about 2.5 years ago and decided to give Weight Watchers one more try. Lost enough weight to no longer qualify for Lap Band. Woo Hoo me! Nope...gained it all back. So I am 100% ready to go. I feel educated and comfortable with the process. Biggest fears: controlling portions, liquid diet, and feeling nauseous a lot. Read the book and it is very informative and helpful. Wonderful resource. Thanks LapBandTalk people. - Where are my maryland sleevers?
