  2. My preop diet consist of the following: 3 slim fast shakes per day. I put the can of shake in my blender with ice and i scoop of 30 gms of protein powder for breakfast. I have the other shakes for lunch and supper. My doctor said it doesn't matter if I lose weight , but it is to shrink my liver before the surgery. I will be having my surgery Monday afternoon at 1:30 on August 5th. The preop diet is very hard, and takes will power. It is hard not to eat solid food, especially cooking it for the family! I am doing this, and I can not wait until Monday!
  3. I am so excited! I am on day day 5 of my 2 week preop diet. 3 slimfast shakes per day, with a lettuce and tomato salad with the supper shake. It is hard, but I am hanging in there. It is hard to cook for family and not eat. I can do this! Any other bandsters with same date?

  6. I went to the hospital and I seen the dietician there. The first visit was 60.00' but she talked to me for 2 hours, and went over everything about the lap band, and had a book with all the information and recipes, she was awesome! The return visits are 35 each, but she will help to keep me on the right track.

  10. I had gall bladder surgery in February, and I had asked about doing the lap band at the same time. My doctor said NO. He said the gall bladder removal was a different kind of surgery, and that the lap band could be at risk from becoming infected from the gall bladder if done at the same time. I am going to have the lap band once all my pre-op gets ready. I am trying to find a nutritionist and then it has to be approved by insurance. I have done everything else. I can't wait to begin the journey with the band. I am so ready.
  11. That is great! Happy for you. I want to lose around 80 pounds. I weigh 241, and I want to weigh 155 or so.
  12. I would like to have a buddy to begin my journey that is starting too. I am excited, happy, and nervous.
  13. I am on my way! I had my Dr. consult today, and now to get all my documentation, nutritionist visit, and physiologist visit scheduled. I am so excited to begin the journey. I am 52 years old, and I want to get healthy.
