  1. That's the period of time between surgery and when you get a fill. The band isn't giving you any restriction yet, so you're just having to white knuckle it through.
  2. No, but I do have those white background pictures, because I'm a photographer. I had dh take them. I have a set fully dressed, one in sports bra and yoga pants, and a bra and underwear set that I won't be sharing. LOL
  3. Its such a short time of your life, the preop diet. I figured 2 weeks of that was worth the lifetime of happiness and health I was going to get by starting this process. I really had an ok time of it. The first 3 days, I thought I was going to die, but once I'd gotten all the carbs out of my body, the rest was a piece of cake!
  4. The pacemaker comparison is a great one!!!
  5. Welcome to the Victorious Valentines! Wow, 20lbs! Good job!
  6. Not yet, I've been super paranoid that if I screw up, it'll fall out or something.
  7. Wow, that is a DRASTIC difference already!!!!
  8. $12500 plus $400. Includes psych consult, 2 weeks of Medifast for preop diet, all the appointments, surgery and fills for 2 years. This was Dr Curry in Cincinnati Ohio.
  9. P.S. I did have an 11lb baby without any pain meds whatsoever, and no epidural. I definitely don't recommend it.
  10. I actually did get some flack for having epidurals. My response was always "would you get knee surgery without anesthesia?" The natural way of weight loss obviously hasn't worked for me. I'd torture myself for months on end only to gain it all back and more. I've cried and cried about my weight... no one should have to live like that. Natural schmatural. I'm doing what works! And I haven't really told anyone about the band, so I don't expect too many comments beyond "WOW YOU LOOK GREAT!"
  11. Try putting a pillow there between you and the bed, that helped me a lot. I'm almost 3 weeks out now and can sleep on my side, stomach, whatever.
  12. I only made it 15 min today, but I'm going to do some light yoga in a few min, I think.
  13. you want to know what I'm CRAVING? POPCORN! Isn't that odd? I'd sell my soul for some popcorn. LOL
  14. There are some great US doctors who will do it for the same/close/better prices as the Mexican doctors now. I think it's easier to find someone locally to do your fills if you have been banded here, too.
  15. My husband wasn't overly excited about me having surgery, either. But, I didn't do it for him, I did it for me. Thankfully, he saw this and was supportive, but even had he not been, I would have gone ahead with it. Also, I'm self pay, and I don't work outside the home, so he's the one paying for it if you want to get technical. Being married doesn't mean you are no longer your own person who can make their own decisions.
  16. I was told not to lift, push, pull or drag anything over 20 pounds for 2 weeks.
  17. I gave up soda 8 years ago when I did WW because I didn't want to waste my points on it. I bet I haven't had a dozen since then (and of course none since banding). I don't miss it at all, and even when I did have one I found it terribly sweet and disgusting. I'm an iced tea drinker now. :w00t:
  18. I think you should buy a new pair of jeans in each new size, even if they are cheapies! Well worth it to have pants that FIT, and makes you feel good to have that new lower size on :w00t:
  19. Yeah I get more of the "eat the apple, fatass" vibe. LOL The hand placement just makes it too much about the boob for me.
  20. Yep, get soup and if they ask, just say you had a late lunch.
  21. I have the Mirena IUD and have had it for about 2 years before the surgery.
  22. It bugs me the way she has her right arm/hand cupped around her boob. Probably my nitpicky photographer self talking, but ever since I noticed it, it drives me a little more crazy every day. :w00t:
