Hi Fellow Nurses, I got Approved! I hope to be sleeve by the time I celebrate my 25 year as a RN. So glad to join this group. Blessings to all!

I went through something similar with my Mother. She was also against me having the surgery. I suggest Educate them as soon as possible. Be kind. Let them know that it is laparoscopic surgery too. A less invasive surgery and more safer than than RNY surgery. And that the Lap band has problems so sleeve surgery is better and why. I just had this conversation with my mother. The conversation should have happened sooner! I educated her and she was okay but, first she strongly disagreed! Things will be okay. Keep your head up! Good luck!

If your BMI is 40 I think you do qualify. So Research and no your rights!

My family member is a 3rd degree black belt at about 180lbs. So size does not matter. I say focus on what good things you are gaining.

OP From a woman point of view. You getting healthy is what matters. Sure get your exercise in but what you loose in weight your actually gain in other areas like increase confidence and hey U know. Skinny Sexin!!!!!!

My third pre op is tue. Thank you for asking. Just got Approved awaiting for the official letter then they will schedule it. I'm also taking this journey for my children and self too. Good luck
