  1. Gosh what a mess! I tries to reply to Jinran but something went wrong. Sorry Jinean. My cholesterol levels went up because I ended up eating the foods that went down easily. Just be aware that if your band is too tight it is not easy to eat healthily. Enjoy the loss, but take care [emoji4]

  8. Hi Starlane, Had you regained weight with the lap band? I am considering revision What pre op preparation did you have to do?
  9. Hi LabCop I am considering a revision. Have you got a lapband! What prep do you have to do pre op? Good luck
  10. Wow! This is all very encouraging. Thank you for the replies. I am seeing my surgeon on Monday to discuss options. I don't know how the process will go re pre op diet etc if I go ahead with band removal. Can anyone enlighten me on that? Did you have to go through liquid diet before band removal?
  11. Hi. I had a lap band in 2008 but have regained a lot of weight that I lost. I want to have the band removed because of possible future complications. I am considering getting bypass surgery. I am in good health with a BMI of 35. Does anyone know if bypass surgery is done at this age? I have heard that some surgeons won't do it. Thanks for any opinions or information that you may have Gaylene
  12. You look soo good! Well done
  13. How is the reflux, Grammy?
  14. Hi. Hope you have been to the Doctor. You are right...something is not right.
  15. I have never had a concern with my port. I can feel it, but it is deep enough that I can't see it. Very occasionally if I lie a certain way in bed it is a bit uncomfortable.
  16. The bloating will go. Be patient and concentrate on your fluids. Sounds like you are doing well.
  17. I am eight years out and reflux has got worse over the last few years. I keep ant acids beside my bed now and never used to. I must admit it does not trouble me as much if I stop eating three hours before bed. I find propping myself up on two pillows helps. I also find it is worse when I lie on my right side.. This may help you too.
  18. Gosh. It is disappointing to read of all the problems with the band. I had one in Feb 2008. I have been in the green spot for most of that time. Reached my goal in six months. However over the last two years I have allowed myself to gain two thirds of what I lost. It is my fault entirely. I don't get hungry, I just eat the wrong foods. Reflux is getting worse and I am frequently chewing ant acids. I am scared of erosion or other complications in the future and am trying to decide what to do. I am wondering about getting all the fluid removed and seeing if I can manage on my own....risky! Or changing to bypass. I don't think I would get a sleeve because of similar reflux problem to the band. I can manage my head hunger if I eat right and have recently lost some weight. I am interested in hearing from some of you as to what decision you have made and how it's going. Please keep posting.
  19. I enjoyed all the optifast protein shakes. But I am in New Zealand and not sure if you can get them there. Good luck with your weight loss.
  20. Hi. I hope your surgery has gone well. When I had my band fitted I did weigh a bit more post op because of fluid build up. But it was only temporary and because of the post op diet you will be on, it comes off quickly. Well done on losing so much pre op. You must have followed the guidelines really well. Keep doing that and you will be a success. Keep posting!
  21. Yee har folks! Have finally broken the 82kg. Now 81.5 Still a long way to go to get back to goal of 68. However I am making this band work, and it's great if I make the right choices!
  22. Hi I had band in 2008, and my burping is worse than ever. After eating and drinking. I have never worried about it as I don't think it's harmful?? Are you sleeve or band? Gaylene
  23. Wow! I can so relate to that. Well said.
