    The 1st 6 weeks..

Banded on the 28th I've lost about 6 pounds. It's starting to slow down as I'm consuming food. With my body when I cut carbs, weight sheds. But I've already seen it slow down and I freak out. It feels good to lose it so fast!! I'm still dealing with a lot of bloating and gas. I can sleep on my back, right side, and even my stomach for a little while but I can't sleep on my left side!! Weird! My larger incision is a little sore still and I'm still kinda numb. And oh god the constipation. I'm eating my purees and soft foods now but very very little. I'm putting a large portion of benefiber in my Vitamin waters everyday and its slowly getting better. I'm ready to get to working out and moving I'm so sick of waiting. I feel like I waited so Lon and worked so hard to get the surgery that I want to go! I have to pace myself and its hard to do that. I'm so glad this group is getting some movement!! It's great to have the support!!

Lisserlou no not discouraging at all! I am 3 days post op. and you described everything perfectly. The gas bubbles the incisions, gas x strips!!!! I am experiencing all of this. At 10 days how are you feeling? Are you feeling normal yet? On purees?

    Starting The Group

IM Holly mom of a 12 mo old baby girl Mckenli. Hubby is in the Navy. Surgery will be in Jacksonville Florida. Technically my bmi is just under 40 but my surgeon is having me on a 2 week pre op diet. It sucks! I have been praying about this surgery and researching and talking with my surgeon for over 3 years. When i first started out i only had a bmi of like 30. Now look where i am. A baby and a few years of marriage didnt do my weight too good. Im very excited and determined and motivated. Im excited to start getting together my post op foods and survival stuff. I know it will be a tough road. Did i mention my husband and i are closing on our new house a few days after surgery. What a crazy December for me!! Cant wait to hear everyones stories! P.S. Im not sure if there is a huge difference but i am getting the REALIZE band, not the actual lap band. But i think they are the same?
