6 month waiting period for insurance is crazy
My nut and Dr are using the 6 month diet to prepare me for the drastic changes my body will go thru, I eat 5-6 six times a day and this month I am trying to sip Water more and not guzzle. I have only about 1 month and a week left in my 6 month, I've lost around 30 lbs and right now I only eat to satisfy! It is really hard to eat 5-6 times a day! The 6 month diet has gone by really fast. You need to listen to dr and nut and end will be here before you know it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Starting to get real!
I just met with my Primary Care Doctor and had my annual check up. He took me off one of my meds for Diabetes. He also half dosed my BP med and Metformin. He said without a doubt I wont need to be on any meds except for one by the time I have surgery with my Bariatric Surgeon in late Aug or early September. (as long as insurance approves!) which both doctors think it should be a no brainer about the approval since I am doing so good losing during my 6 month supervised diet.. I SEE THE END OF THE OLD ME COMING and the START OF THE NEW ME!

Regret before surgery
I cancelled my surgery twice, thinking I could lose the weight on my own, I dropped 40lbs and starting thinking I could do it on my own. Gained most of it back! I understand your feelings! I've been there twice. Now my wife and family are giving me their FULL support, which is big for me since I am a people pleaser at heart. This time around I know I NEED this tool to help me to be healthy again!

Loss of taste
I had a knee surgery about two months ago and about 2 days after the surgery I lost my sense of taste. (doctors don't have any idea why!) I lost my sense of taste a couple of knee surgeries ago two, but for only for about a week. NOW I have been told that this could also happen during the VSG surgery too. Thoughts? has this happened to anyone else??? I should be on schedule for VSG, late Aug or early Sept, I am almost finished with my 6 month supervised diet. the 30th of June I finish up month 5.

Protein powder
I like Unjury and Nectar brands. I like most of the Unjury, but my favorites are Pink Grapefruit, Fuzzy Naval and Grape for the Nectar brand. I'm still 4 more months until surgery but have a protein shake 3 times a week.

Last Appt

6 month pre op diet
Are you referring to a 6 month supervised diet required by your insurance company? if so, my insurance company will not cover the surgery if you don't lose weight each month or more specifically gain weight. I just finished up my first month and lost 4 lbs.

Eating 6 times a day during 6 month supervised diet
Is anyone else having to eat 6 times a day for their 6 month supervised diet? I have been doing this for a month and down a few pounds, but it's hard to eat 6 times a day! I understand after surgery this will be my routine, but it's tough to eat so many times in a day.

Chewable vitamins feedback?
I use Opurity chewables for both Multi and Cal Citrate. I've been using them for about a month and so far so good. Still trying to find an Iron supplement that agrees with me.

Iron Supplements
Recommendations for an Iron Supplement? I have been mildly anemic my entire life, Dr wants me to start taking Iron again, but every supplement I have tried upsets my stomach. I've taken at least 8 different brands.

Back at it again.
Sorry I should've been more concise, I was scheduled for Surgery in Jan, 2015 (self-pay) and backed out last minute, tried losing weight on my own, not much success. Re-scheduled surgery Nov 2015 (again self pay) then found out our insurance was going to cover Bariatric Surgery in 2016. I have all my tests and requirements completed for them to approve surgery except the 6 month supervised diet.. sorry

Back at it again.
Doing my 1st week of 6 month supervised diet.. Not self paying for surgery this time, Insurance is covering the surgery after I meet the last and final requirement of a 6 month diet. Hopefully the time will pass quickly. so far so good!

6 month non-surgical weight loss regimen?
My insurance is requiring a 6 month, non surgical weight loss regimen, WHAT did your personal physician or surgeon do for this? My Doctor isn't sure exactly what he needs to do for me. Thoughts? Help! I have every other requirement met already. except this one!

Anyone from Indiana and have BCBS PPO Indiana insurance? What requirements did you have for the Gastric Sleeve Surgery to be covered? I've done Psyche Evaluation, EKG, EGD and all the blood work.
