  1. And if you can drink you should be fine, but I don't drink until it passes.
  2. Discomfort is normal and for me I usually start burping and it gets better. It was very scary my first time I was like omg this is what stuck means. It does pass just give it time. Hang in there !!
  3. Did you have a bun with the hamburger? Bread can get easily stuck even small amts. Sounds like your stuck. Some bandsters say drink small amt pineapple juice, I've just always waited it out and it passes within 30-40 mins for me.
  4. Call your doctor tomorrow and let him know what's going on since the weekends coming. I worry about you!! You could possibly have a slipped band or could be nothing. Let me know how your doing.
  5. Did you eat yesterday? I remember your post you weren't to hungry. Are you keeping any liquids down?
  6. I agree...I can find many other food options even in a hurry and I don't consider them a snack. I prefer fresh fruit peanutbutter cottage cheese yogurt when I need a quick meal. The Fit n Active bar that I use on occasion is 180 cals and only 10 gms protein.
  7. Looking good keep up the good work
  8. Me and protein bars are a lost cause. They don't fill me up at all and the ones I buy taste good more like a treat but I end up still eating cause I'm still hungry.
  9. I did not want to try another diet due to numerous failed attempts as most of us on here. I seen my nutritionist monthly for 6 months before sx. She showed me how to pick better food choices, meal plan, and found foods I would incorporate into this new lifestyle. I don't do Atkins, Weight Watchers, Nutra System, etc. Why would I wanna do that when I have my band. I would feel like I was on a diet. I stay away from fast food, hot dogs, processed foods etc. If I really want pizza or ice cream or whatever it may be I eat it, I count calories and add to meal plan for day. Diets don't work for me and I dont want to diet again. The band will give you portion control but until you learn what to eat you will have a hard time taking off weight. Seek out your nutrionist come up with some foods you enjoy and incorporate them into meals. There are some great recipe sites such as Emily Bites, Skinny Girl for great low cal meals. Best of luck for a successful new lifestyle!
  10. I do 1200 cals a day since surgery and now in maintenance although dietican said I can do 1500 now. I focus mostly on protein abt 60-70 gms daily. The fats, carbs I don't track but I use myfitnesspal which keeps track of those and very seldom go over the recommended amt. I worry more abt sugars but that's just me.
  11. I couldn't agree more Jim !
  12. I can do good all day them boom 8 clock just like you dee it starts. I always save calories for my apple and peanutbutter. I know its more head than hunger cuz I know I have them calories left to eat so I do, real hunger of not. One habit I'm trying to break.
  13. Tbh for me yes. My husband although he says he's supportive he doesn't show it. He's a little more insecure with himself. Hes said all I care abt is myself in the middle of a argument. And I told him yes I do care abt myself now. I wanted to be healthy. I did this for me. o The first thing in years I did for myself. I tried to involve him and the kids in healthy eating and walking with me. It's harder on my son who's 13 and overweight. My husband is also overweight but has no interest in losing his choice. I feel bad mostly for my son who I've tried to get to eat healthier but he's such a picky eater its been impossible to change habits thus far. Marriage is work just like the band you have mostly good days but theres them days you just wanna give in. For me I just have to remind him I did this to get healthy not find another man.
  14. I've actually written some for my Dr make sure includes things like co morbities that you may have high bp, elevated cholesterol, trigs, diabetic, apnea, etc, include diets tried and failed, benefits this sx will do for you. Best of luck.
  15. B-52 I have learned and continue to learn from your posts. Yeah I have reached my goal but that's just the beginning for me. I want to feel like you do but I'm not there yet mentally. You and some of the other vets are a constant reminder of how to be successful on this lifetime journey. So when u ask yourself why your here your a success story, your an inspiration to me as well as others. Thanks for all your posts you have made me change different parts of my journey to become a success like you!!
  16. If you know what restaurant your going to see if they have a nutritional guideline. The bigger restaurant chains have them on line so I usually look first before going out to restaurant. If its a smaller chain look up what your thinking abt chicken fajitas refried beans, etc. I love the chips n salsa too! You can still have them just don't go crazy lol..enjoy your night out!!
  17. I'm with Mis after a nice walk outside or on treadmill I'm energized !
  18. Woo hoo !!!!!! Way to go!!!!!
  19. Good luck hopefully you ll find your "sweet spot"..took me five fills totalling 7cc in my 10cc band to get there !!
  20. Your welcome..you can add me as a friend bethcav911@AOL.com !!
  21. You need to eat girl lol!! Good for you in burning them calories at the gym I'm excited when I burn 200 lol. You don't want to go in starvation mode so enjoy your food make meal plans for the day or week when u have time. I track my food on my fitness pal which really helps tracking calories, fats, carbs, protein etc.
  22. 500 calories daily? What do you eat? I've never been on less than 1200 other than pre op and post op. I have lost 110 lbs in seven months and that's all food and very seldom a protein shake here and there. I also walk 4 days a week or more when its not so cold up north. My opinion eat more, exercise and it will come off how its supposes to slow n steady. Best wishes for a healthy new you!
