  1. Finally got verification from someone at horizon bcbs today that papers have been received and the case has been opened as of yesterday- but of course they have 30 days to decide. In the meantime, I am looking very actively for a new job and have been interviewing and this will need to be done before starting a new job obviously for time off reasons. I hope they decide fast!
  2. Mine went by very fast- it wasn't that bad:)
  3. I know everyone's recovery varies- but across the board- how much time off did you take when you had the band? I'm an office manager at a dr's office so I won't be doing anything strenuous. I just want to be realistic as I ask for the time off as I do not want anyone at work knowing what I am doing.
  4. Seeing these pics helps. I hope this is the right decision for me and seeing these reaffirms it:)
  5. When I talked to my surgeon he said I still have enough elasticity in my skin so it shouldn't be a big problem. I'm looking at 80 lbs that I want to lose. Just wondered what exercises were good- I think when I get the ok for exercise I will meet with a trainer. Lordy- thinking ahead- I'm still waiting on insurance approval.
  6. Looking ahead- what do you guys think the best exercise are for minimizing sagging skin?
  7. I have horizon bcbs and my plan did require a 6 month supervised diet- just finished it this week. The surgeons office says they have 30 days but typically it only takes 2 weeks.
  8. I am 36 and am looking at losing about 80- I was told by my surgeon as long as I exercised from the start that I have enough elasticity left for it not to be a big issue. And believe me I will!
  9. 6 month diet over, all evals over, according to the surgeons office - they submitted everything to insurance yesterday- so now I wait...... Nervous since my Bmi is between 35-40 but off of their list I have 5 comorbities listed in my letter from my pcp. Fingers crossed.
  10. Yesterday when I went to the nutritionist she said not to take the gummies as they are missing 2 of the vitamins.
  11. I'm choosing not to tell anyone at work either. I had already been dropping g hints like "think I might try Atkins diet" that way when I'm drinking protein shakes it won't look so funny
  12. I swore for years I was 5'8 but when I went to my consult I was 5'6- that was enough to get my Bmi up there
  13. We are about the same size- I'm 5'6 and 230- I have horizon bcbs nj- go for my last supervised visit next week. I hope I don't have issues with a Bmi of 37.1. According to insurance I must have at least 1 co-morbidity- from the list they provided I have 5. When do you turn your stuff into insurance?
  14. I go for my last supervised visit in 8 days! Hoping for a May date:)
  15. I have horizon bcbs nj-- I go for my last appt next week- we may end up banded Round the same time:)
  16. Joining:) last of my appts next week! Hoping for a may date
  17. Wow! Everyone looks amazing!!! What inspiration!!!
  18. My dr requires the psych eval and nutritional visit. I go for mine tuesday and the last of my 6 month required supervised diet by my insurance next Wednesday. Then fingers .crosses for approval. What was the psych eval like?
  19. The only appointment they have set up was for the nutrition and pschy eval. I was told they won't schedule upper gi and other testing until insurance approves. I really haven't had much contact with them other than my consultant. This is supposed to be the best center around and I have had several physicians tell me they have not heard any bad stories from this dr. I guess I'm just getting anxious as time gets closer. Trying to make sure I have everything taken care of for hopefully an approval first time thru.
