as scary as these types of posts are to me (a hopefully soon-to-be-bandster) I am thankful for them because I need to know the ups and downs. I hope you start to feel better soon!!

It's a little sickening to me that people on this board would have the nerve to write you such cruel things. I haven't been banded yet and I came on this board to learn, meet fellow bandsters, and create an online support system for myself during this life changing journey. We are all here for the same thing no matter where you are in your journey. We are a community... A neighborhood of people who have come together to help everyone celebrate in their successes, encourage each other to push through struggles, and share stories so people can learn from one another. This should be a completely judgement free zone.. A safe place for our "community of pre and post-bandsters". Shame on anyone who is here to judge and put people down!

Oh I'm with you girl! I've been told that many times- but honestly, it's from people who, in my opinion, are just being nice. I mean, who besides your truly close friends and family will honestly saw, on yeah you need to lose weight? None for me. Don't let it deter you. Although her compliment was sweet, she does no know how much your weight is effecting you... This is something that you are doing for yourself. Don't let people's opinions steer you away from what you want. we're all here for you!

Wow! How fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing. I was/ am scared that ill eat just as much and be hungry and wind up binging, so I appreciate what you've all said. The more I learn the more confident I am that this is the right choice for me!

I'm happy that everyone is pretty happy with their experience and it is definitely comforting for a hopefully soon-to-be bandster Do you find it easier to follow the food/calorie intake because the band helps? In other words, if you didn't have the band and the doctor told you to eat 1500 calories, x oz. Protein, etc. would you be able to have the willpower the way you can/ do with the band? I hope that makes sense.

I've noticed everyone saying its easy if you follow the rules. What are the rules? Do you find it's easy to follow the rules because the Lapband actually prevents you from over eating? Also, do you actually feel and stay full for four hours?

Do you guys find it hard to follow the rules? I'm scared I will lose willpower and start binge eating like I do when in dieting now.

Wow! I am overwhelmed by the amount of responses! You are all amazing people.. Your willingness to share your stories with me and everyone interested is beyond generous. I have read all of them and overall, I can tell that yes, there will be sacrifices and there will be times when you struggle but in the end, it's all worth it. I have not been banded yet but I am anticipating getting it done soon hopefully. I'd love your open and honest opinions about whether you find that following the new lifestyle is easier or harder than expected. Do you still have cravings? How often are you hungry. Do you feel that you have more control with the band than you did without it? Anything and everything you would like to offer to future bandsters would be great! Thanks- Jennifer

I'm looking at Dr. Rivera. Which Dr. Pucci did you go to? I believe there are three of them. I do, however, think that Dr. Ramon Rivera is the only doctor in-network for my insurance though. How are you feeling?

Thanks for your advice. My insurance company did not say anything about needing a referral- only documentation that it is medically necessary. I guess I'll wait until the seminar to find out . Thanks so much everyone

Well, I mean, should I set up my first appointment even with out attending the seminar yet just to get the ball rolling?

I'll be attending my first seminar next Thursday... Would it be a good idea to make my initial consultation appointment beforehand? Also, do I need to get in touch with my pcp?
