  1. Well, add another one to your boat, ladies.. Anxious and paranoid right here too! Lol
  2. I don't know how to add people on there. My name is ireallywannabthin
  3. Well sure enough I called the doctors office and the lapband website was incorrect! They had a seminar but it was at the doctors office not the hospital! There was a support group at the hospital... So I have them the benefit and made my first appointment!!!! So excited!
  4. Yeah, I think my friends friend that lost the weight was a male and she said that he was so think and lost it so fast that he looked sickly... His cheekbones were pert riding making his forehead and top half of his head look huge- hence the bobble head. However, I've seen people( people I know) that have that bobble head look also, however, they've all had gastric bypass not lapband and they lost weight very fast. Maybe that makes a difference
  5. I have seen and heard More and more about the gastric sleeve. For me, I don't want the gastric sleeve for gastric bypass and prefer the lap band because it seems like a less intrusive surgery... And I also like that you were able to control your hunger, your food intake, and the size of the band. I also like that it can be removed if necessary. The lap band is a lot less nerve-racking then the gastric bypass or gastric sleeve surgeries... I am very excited that I might be getting this done!
  6. Pathetic?! NOT EVEN CLOSE! Something like that is a huge accomplishment for us!! That's wonderful news! Embrace this accomplishment! You earned it!!
  7. I'm glad too! I made my first appointment today with my doctor so in pretty excited. I'm just scared that ill get banded and lose willpower, since that's my pattern, and then ruin everything.
  8. I was talking to my friend about it today and she told me about someone who had it and looks like a "bobble head" in her words. It got me thinking and sure I'm scared, but not enough to stop me. It's something I've always wanted and ill be damned if I let that fear of what I'll look like stop me.
  9. Ya know, I was laying in bed last night wondering if the band made you more gasey or not! Thanks for the thread!
  10. Yeah I am going to. The receptionists as the desk in the lobby said that this happens to so many seminars and meetings there (not just with my seminar)... I wonder if its the hospital. Still going to look into other surgeons though
  11. My doctor was a no show.. The seminar must have been cancelled and no one said anything. The hospital diet even know. I'm so depressed...
  12. Is it bad that I feel that most of my questions have been answered here? Lol
  13. That's not a silly success story.. that's a huge accomplishment.. a NSV (non-scale victory)!! That is one of those items on my bucket list of weight loss that I want to accomplish also! That's wonderful...enjoy every moment of fitting comfortably in those pants!
  14. FIrst and foremost, congratulations on your wonderful success and having it acknowledged from your doctor! Just think, YOU are one of those stories that I, someone who is still looking into the LapBand, will hear about from my doctor! YOU are one of those people you looked at before you were banded and said, "Wow, I wish that was me". YOU are that person you wanted to be when you got the LapBand! BRAVO!!!!! How amazing!! And secondly, I truly admire your dedication to your weight loss... you cycling to and from work and to and from your doctor appointment is quite the feat! Good for you!! Keep up the great work!
  15. Just wanted to share that I am FINALLY attending my seminar tonight!! I've opened up to my Mom about where out "suprise meeting" is tonight, and although she doesn't want me to have surgery, she said she wants to learn about it beause it is ultimately my decision. I am very excited to meet my potential surgeon and learn more about the whole process. Any suggestions? I don't quite no exactly what to expect tonight. Thanks everyone! Jennifer

  17. I haven't but you've intrigued me enough to watch it. Maybe I'll watch it after my seminar tonight! Thanks for sharing!!
  18. Wow!! That is absolutely incredible!! It must feel amazing! Keep up the good work! Way to go!!
  19. I'm so sorry you had to deal with that. I haven't been banded yet but having to deal with something that rude and heartless is terrible! I hope you can use the advice from our fellow board members and it helps you. Best of luck!
