  1. I'm on day 2 and doing well so far.
  2. I have Medicare, which does not require prior approval either.
  3. Yesterday I ate everything but the kitchen sink. I started my pre-op diet today, doing well so far. You can do this. Be determined.
  4. Day 1 of pre-op diet, doing ok for now. It's the long haul I'm worried about. Stay strong everyone.
  5. I will be staying at Sophia's House. It's right across the road from St. Mary's. It is for families of people who haveto stay overnight.

  7. When I had my psych eval she gave me a book called, the Beck Diet Solution, train your brain to think like a thin person. By Judith S. Beck, PhD. I've found it helpful.
  8. Surgery at St. Mary's by Dr. Nagel on August 14, 2013.
  9. Those of you who had surgery at St. Mary's, Grand Rapids, was there a place for your family members to stay while you were in the hospital?
  10. I'm pre sleeve, and I sneeze if I go to long without eating.
  11. My Dr. told me that some people are on liquids for 12 weeks. It depends how long it takes the swelling to go down.
  12. I went to a seminar in September 2012. I had all my requirements met by December. The office kept screwing up my paperwork that was sent in for approval. My insurance changed in July. I got my surgery date yesterday, 8/14/13. So 11 months for me.

  16. Has anyone had surgery in Traverse City? Are they good? Tell me your experience there.
  17. I started this process last September, had everything done be December and still waiting. They kept screwing up the paperwork when they sent it in for approval. Now my ins has changed, they don' t return my calls, I sent an email to the office manager and didn't get a response. I' m fed up with them. If they don' t want my business I can take it elsewhere.
  18. How is everyone doing? I'm still waiting for a surgery date and getting frustrated. I'm thinking of switching doctors. Has anyone had surgery at Munson Medical Center?
  19. My right ankle has a black spot that will not wash off. There is no pain. Any ideas on what it is?
  20. My ins requires a center of excellence so I will be having the surgery in grand rapids but the follow up care will be in petoskey. Glad you're doing well.
  21. My surgery will be in July with Dr. Nagel. How was your hospital stay and how are you doing now?
  22. When you have your pre op blood work they will tell you what meds you can keep taking. Be honest about everything you're taking even over the counter drugs.
