I am 56 yrs old and I'm going to true tesults in Richardson tx to have mine done in dec 2012 I'm hoping I don't loose my hair or have any complications. I'm very healthy. Except I'm 235 lbs that's not healthy I go in this mon for nutri and psyc eval. Insur requires it. I'm not real concerned with saggy skin right now. Just more about loosing hair. I plan to eat/ drink plenty of protein. Any suggestions for THIS NEWBIE?????

i know the feeling,,, i hope to be banded by dec 5th,,, and im getting anxious about all the getting stuck episodes,, i dont want to be throwing up or be in agony with food stuck in my stomach,,, not sure if i made the right decision or not,,, think im reading wayyy to much stuff on here,,, im about 2 shakes of a lambs tail of backing out

i have a question about the protein shakes,,,,,where do u buy the adkins shakes,,, as u can see i dont diet,,, but will be banded next month,,, so im getting prepaired,,, thanks for any answers

I JUST FINISHED MY SLEEP STUDY TODAY,, BUT MINE WAS SENT TO MY HOUSE AND IT WAS A HEADBAND I PUT ON WITH TUBES UP MY NOSE,,, THERE IS NO TELLING HOW BAD I SNORED AND TALKED IN MY SLEEP (MY HUBBY SAID I WAS DOING SOME TALKING) OH GREAT LOL,, THEN THE SECOND NIGHT I JUST PULLED IT OFF AND THREW IT ON THE FLOOR,,, IT STARTED BEEPING FOR ME TO PUT BACK ON,,, I DID,, THEN I WOKE UP BEFORE THE 7 HRS WAS UP AND TURNED IT OFF,, I MAY HAVE FAILED,,, I DONT KNOW,,, WAS GLAD I DID IT AT HOME AND DID NOT HAVE TO GO TO A SLEEP STUDY PLACE,,,

oh my i dont like tht u A1990 did not get to see the dr B,,, im going in on monday for bloodwork ekg and whatever else they do there,,, i dont have a surg date yet,,, now im a little worried they will hurry me up also,,,, tell me what else u didnt like,,, i went 2 weeks ago for the free consult and everyone was nice and things moved smoothly,,, but now that i look back on it,,, they did seem to wanna rush my surg date,,, oh geeze what have i done,, may need to rethink this,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

i have blue cross blueshierl IL and had no problem with them paying,, im 56 yrs old weigh 235 and take cholesterol meds,,, i only have to pay my $1500 deductable but thats better than $9000 for surg,,, they only required me to see nutritonlist and have physchiarist eval,, (which is no big deal) its all done right there at true results where i plan to have my procedure done,,, goood luck

i too am going to richardson ,, so far so good,,,of course im still in the insur part of it,,phsyc testing ,,blood work and sleep apnea study tonight and tomorrow night,,,but so far they have been great with me and i can come up with some really crazy questions too,,, So a1990 did u like dr benavides,,, thats who is doing mine

roxanne i just got your email and so glad all went well,,, thank you for the support ,,,but i m determined and i wont quit and we can do this,, i know we will have hard days there is no doubt,,,but we CAN CAN do it i even anxious to start walking,,,never thought those words would come out of my mouth lol,,,, this spring i want to go to this huge flea market that is the first sat of every month its in east tx and my hubby loves to go but i dont want to anymore,,too much walking,,, BUT i plan to change that asap !!!! keep me up on your progress and let me know every litrtle bit of infor,,,pain,,,everthing,, and i will do the same,,, IM WITH YOU ROXANNE,,, ROXANNE AND SUZANNE CAN DO THIS,,,BAND SISTERS

how long do we have to do the liquid thing? i have not got that far yet,, i sure hope i can do that and not give up,,,,guess i will find out more when i go back in,,,keeping fingers crossed,,, i want so badly not to fail at this as i have with everything else,, surgery cant come soon enough for me im wondering if all dr follow the same guidlines?

just got home from my consultation,,,I AM STOKED,,, first of all my insur bcbsil does pay for my surgery,, i have to pay $1500 out of pocket,,, so that was my first YEEEHAAAA,, then i weighed in and yes im a lot heavier than even i thought i was,,235,,, i was shocked,,,sooooo with that said i have my test scheduled for first of nov and surgery in dec,,,, i plan to follow orders to a teee,,,unlike how i never have done before,,i plan to get my life back on track,,start to socialize again (and not have to be food related events either like i use to think they had to be) i want to be able to walk again without getting out of breath,, WANT to go places with my husband instead of not wanting to leave the house,,, i just want the old me back,,its amazing how i have let my weight make me someone im not,,, i was always a social butterfly,,, laughing, making new friends and just enjoying life,,but over the past 2 yrs or so i have sat home eating and being unsocialble,, Yes i know why i have done this and the reason being is i have not worked in almost 3 yrs,,it was by choice and i like being home taking care of things here,,but it has also made me lazy ,, I have thought about getting surgery for a while now and then i woke up one day and said ENOUGH IS ENOUGH,,, so after my consultation today i have started the first day of the rest of my life,, a new me and a new outlook on life and new attitude,,,yaaaah me I can hardly wait til dec thanks each and everyone of you for your support and good thoughts,,,thats one big reason i made this decision,,im not scared any more,,, but on ONE BAD NOTE,,i told a good friend of mine i was doing this and her response was,,"so what are you going to do about all the excess flab that you will have: i told her that if i walk and excrsise that i should not have that,,and her response was : well i will have to see that to believe it,,, She really upset me with her attitude , im guessing she must be really jealous because she too could easily loose 80 lbs,,, i dont understand why ppl have to be that way

roxa i am more determined now than i have ever been,,i have 2 close friends who have had lapband and they look wonderful,, they did fine with theres but one says she does throw up a lot BUT she says she hurries and eats things she knows she is not suppose to,, so she is hurting herself i guess,, OH I DO HAVE ONE MORE QUESTION,, i had someone tell me that if insurance DOES pay for your procedure that if u ever loose that insurance for some reason,,,you are then UNINSURABLE thru any other insurance co,, has anyone ever heard that ? the person i heard this from is not a very reliable person anyway but i dont know whether she knows whats she is talking about anyway or if she is just trying to get me to not get the surgery,,,u know some ppl can be mean and jealous
