1. The only time i had any regret was the day of the surgery and after.Only because of the pain.Once i was passed the pain it was on like donkey Kong! Just try to have a positive outlook and attitude.I reminded myself that the doctor just installed a tool in me and now it was up to me to put it to use, not him!
2. The last one was the day i went home from the hospital.I weighed 356lbs.
3. That's greatness!I was trying to keep it looking the same but didn't think about the food!Lol! Yes i even opened that cabinet!lol.I did another one wearing the exact same clothes but couldn't keep my pants up and stand and in that same position! I need to do another one since I've lost 20 more pounds.Thank you for the compliments, being over weight for so long its nice to hear someone say you're handsome, so thank you very much!I just wished i knew about this site when i first done this surgery!
4. Good luck, it will be over before you know it! I'm 8 months out now and it was the best decision ever! I've lost 167lbs now!
5. Lots of walking and exercising! In the mornings i drink a large glass of Carnation, lunch i eat chicken salad but usually just eat the chicken, and dinner i eat very small portions of usually chicken and vegetables.I snack on almonds all day.My weight started falling off the first 3 months,i lost 110lbs but it slowed quit abit. Now I'm losing about 1-2lbs every week.My doctor told me to walk 28 miles a week so i do and it works.
6. Just curious if anybody else has lost there weight as rapid as i have? I've lost 165lbs in 8 months.I started at 381lbs and my goal weight is 200lbs.I'm 5ft 8 and my Bmi was 59.9 and now its a 33.8.
7. Its so worth it! I've lost 165lbs in 8 months! It sucks for some time but after 6 weeks it will all get better. Then 3 months later you will know it was the best decision you ever made!I lost 110lbs in the first 3 months.Just do what your doctor says!
8. I tried to eat shrimp after and it just didn't go down well at all so I've stayed away from it!I do eat the crap out of chicken though and it settles well.
9. I also was a size 46 pants and now I'm a 34 and from 4x shirts to xl! Now i can buy clothes at the mall instead of Casual Make XL! I work on cars for a living and my knees and ankles was always killing me but now when I'm not busy working on cars we have stairs at my shop that i make a point to run up and down 40 times a day.
10. The day of the surgery i was pumped! But i was was getting nervous laying in the pre op room but then my doctor came in and said a prayer with me and my family. Then they wheeled me into the room and next thing i know I'm waking up which seemed like i was out for 5 minutes. Not gonna lie i was in some pain. The hardest thing was not being able to drink anything that whole day until the day after.I tell you what whatever that crap is they give you to do the leak test taste just like crap! They gave me a cap full of water to chase it down with and that wad the best water I've ever had in my life! following 6 weeks was pretty easy because i didn't care to eat anything.I just wanted to drink. At this point right now i would take a big glass of tea over a steak or chicken. The surgery changes your appetite so much to where eating is not something i enjoy but something i do like skinny people did do.Before i would look at there parts and think wow there's mi way that would full me up and now that's exactly how i eat.I try to ride my bike 9 miles a day or jog 3 miles but i usually drop a pound everytime i do one or the other.I was losing 10-15lbs a week for the first 3 months. The main thing is do what the doctor says.
11. I had my surgery 2-17-12 and I've lost 165lbs!I started at 381lbs and a BMI of 59.9 and now i weigh 216lbs and my BMI is 34 in just 8 months!I used Dr. Davidson in Dallas, Texas.Absolutely love this Dr.I lost my first 110lbs in the first 3 months.I've been wanting to talk to others but never thought to look for a APP like this.Best decision I've ever made in my life.
12. I did the gastric sleeve. My Dr. recommended this because my BMI was so high, it was a 59.9.He also made my sleeve smaller than normal so it took me awhile to be able to eat or drink but after about 10 weeks i could drink easier and eat just a bit more once the swelling went down.I was worried that with summer coming up i wouldn't be able to keep enough water down but by the time summer hit i was drinking bigger drinks so summer was a ease.I lost 110lbs in the first 3 months. My doc was amazed and said that i was what every doc wants in a patient.I took it real serious because i paid cash and i also have for kids with the youngest being 4 so i need to be around for a while. The gastric sleeve saved my life and i would tell any one the same!
13. In all honesty i still drink sweet tea with sugar. For breakfast i generally eat a piece of sausage and drink a glass of milk with carnation breakfast, at lunch i eat a chicken salad(small and mainly just the chicken and croutons), and then at dinner i eat very maybe a small bowl of whatever my wife cooks but usually just the meat.I snack on almonds when i get hungry.Main thing is i exercise alot, like riding my bike 10 miles or jogging 3 miles everyday.I seem to drop a pound a day when i do this.If i miss a day then i will either gain back a pound or stay at that weight. My doctor told me that i should be walking already 28 miles a week.Mt goal weight is to be at 200lbs before my 9 month appointment on November 30.
14. I'm loving my weight loss, granite it has slowed but I've lost 165lbs in just 8 months.I exercise regularly and i do cheat by dining set tea and eating peanut m&ms but I'm doing great.I still get hungry at times to but eating almonds takes care of that for me!
15. I had the sleeve surgery 8 months ago 2-17-12 and my starting weight was 381!I have lost 165lbs and now down to 216lbs!I used Dr.Davidson here in Dallas, Texas.A far as i know I've lost my weight quicker than any patient of his.My goal weight is 200.
