  1. For breakfast I use the strawberry creme muscle milk and add two fresh strawberries to it, or the chocolate with a banana in it. Really makes a difference!
  2. LOL- you can do it!! The first three days were the worst- I was hungry all the time and had headaches- it got a lot better after that!
  3. No- I'm in South Carolina. I actually break my meal up too. My Dr. said it really doesn't matter as long as I make sure I get in my protien drinks and protien bar. I have been using Muscle Milk for my shakes with unsweetened vanilla almond milk- they are OK with that. I have to do water the week after surgery and I don't like them with water- but I can do it for a little while.
  4. Hope the pain doesn't last too long- I have heard Gas-X disolvable strips really help.
  5. I think learning to eat with the band will be the hardest part- I have always been a fast eater between being in the military for 21 years and teaching elementary school- neiher of them gave you much time to eat. I am going to have to worjk really hard and concentrate on slowing down when I eat. I have been doing better- but I know I will have some "Reminders" once I am banded.
  6. I know it sounds funny but my doc recommended Flintstones chewable- not the gummy's.
  7. My date is May 7th too My preop lets me have 4 oz of meat, 2 servings of vegetables, 2 servings of starch, and a serving of fruit along with 2 protien shakes a ay and a protien bar, unlimited SF popsicles, jello and broth. I would recheck to make sure you're understanding correctly- did they give you anything in writing? My Dr sent me a preop diet in writing to make sure I understood.
  8. It all depends on your Dr. Mine is not- it is a protien shake for breakfast and lunch. A protien bar for a snack and a sensible dinner (4oz meat- 2 servings vegetables- 2 starches- and a fruit serving. If I want to spread the fruits and vegetables throughout the day that is OK. I also have unlimited SF Jello, SF Popsicles, and broths.
  9. I think it would be good if we did one with a limited number of people on there- maybe 10-12? I'm afraid if we got too many it would just be chaos.
  10. I'm preop (May 7th) and my lunchbox looks like this when I leave in the morning- 1 Qt unsweet iced tea- 1 protien bar- 8 OZ unsweet vanilla almond milk in a shaker- 1 scoop whatever flavor shake for the day- 1 cup raw vegetables- a piece of fruit and some sugar free jello. I also have a thing of chicken broth in the fridge here at work to heat up and drink when I need a pick me up.
  11. I would be interested in it- I'm also in EST.
  12. I'm hoping this is normal- I have been on the preop diet for a week now and have lost 3 pounds- 10 pounds since I started this journey back in October. I know that without help I will never be able to lose it and keep it off- but it sure makes you wonder. I have been up an down ith my weight my entire life- I lose some and then I gain more back than I lost. I am grateful for supportive family an friends that keep telling me I can do it. I have had one who said see you can do this on your own- I know from past expeiences that I can't, but it sure makes you have an internal debate!
  13. Praying for you- let us know how it goes- I have 2 more weeks to go!
  14. The first couple days were tough for me- but after that I stopped being hungry all the time- on day 7 now!
  15. Yes- I was approved in two days- the 3 weeks was for my surgery date.
  16. Who is your insurance through- I am Tri Care
  17. Mine moved really fast after that- three weeks was offered to me- I had to take 4 weeks because of work though.
  18. My Dr. told me yesterday I am getting 3cc's of fill when I get my band placed- anyone else get thiers filled at placement?
  19. I think it is on sale for a couple days from the way the guy was talking to me.
  20. I started back in October- but had problems with my insurance and my primary care dr getting them the info they needed. From the time all the paperwork was submitted it took 2 days to approval- that was a week ago Saturday. I called Monday (8th) to schedule things- Surgery is May 7th. So once everything was submitted- one month.
  21. They told me when they put the band in they will fill it with 3ccs- I thought that was odd- anyone else have a fill at the same time as placement?
  22. Stopped by GNC today and they had Muscle milk on sale $24 for the smaller size and $49 for the larger size. Just thought I would share this in case you use this.
