  1. I would definitely think twice about this surgeon- if this is the way they treat you when you haven't had the surgery yet I wonder how they will treat you afterwards.
  2. I agree I am also May 7th and felling pretty good. The port incision is the one that bothers me the most, but even that isn't too bad. .I haven't been hungry either, but trying to do my Protein shakes as much as possible. I'm ready for next Wednesday when I go get these staples out!!!
  3. I had mine done yesterday and pretty much slept all day. I'm really not having any gas pains- the only time it huts is when I lie down or stand up,but even that is better than t was. I took 2 pain pills yesterday, but haven't taken any today. I may do one before I go to bed to help me sleep, I went out today and walked around Lowes and Walmart with my mother today- was exhausted when I got home, but it felt good to get up.
  4. I'm on my way!!! They moved me up to 6am and it is 90 minutes from me! Now if I can just not go to the bathroom before I get there so I can do the pregnancy test I will be happy!!! Nothing like no water after midnight, but make sure you can pee in a cup when you get here
  5. I've not heard of it- what is it?
  6. I have some gas-x strips, heating pads and mirilax- I am planning on walking ALOT. I hope I am prepared!!!
  7. I have one too that they are going to fix tomorrow- I have heard that is what hurs more han the band- how did you feel afterwards?
  8. Welcome!! I hope this board is as much of a help to you as it has been to me.
  9. I'm right there with you- when I tell people that I am getting it I get the same response you do "You aren't that heavy" My best friend even told me there was no way I would even be a candidate for it when I first told her I was considering it. I have been overweight all my life- I was in the Air Force for 21 years and was always right there on the edge of where I needed to be- I hated being on the "fat boy" program, but no matter what I did I couldn't get to the point to actually get off and stay off of it. Once I got out of the AF I became more laxed in trying to keep my weight where it was supposed to be since no one was watching. I couldn't believe it when I stepped on a scale one day and I was 201 pounds. I tried to get back down to 140 where I was in the AF, but just have not been able to do it. The people who tell me I am not that heavy that I am doing this not only for where I am now, but where I don't want to get to. I know that though I am overweight now I am not as heavy as most people who have done this I am doing this for me and no one else so in 20 years I am not to the point where I can’t hardly walk and have absolutely no energy. I guess my advice to you is to do this for you an don’t worry about what other people say about your weight- they are not the ones carrying it around. I know that sounds easier said than done, but I’m telling you that I have been fairly open with family and friends about this with some supporting and some not. If someone can’t support me in the decision I have made to make myself healthier then I have to consider if they are really someone I need in my circle. I have distanced myself from a couple people and it has hurt, but I need to surround myself with positive people who want the best for me.
  10. I can't believe the time is finally here- I've been woring on this since September. I've heard that LMC is a great hospital- I went there on april 28th to do my preop stuff and it was so much nicer than the hospital here. They gave me a volunteer who walked me from place to place so I wouldn't get lost. I'm nervous, bu super excited!
  11. Sure will- you too!!! We are going in about the same time so it will be good to keep in touch on how we are doing! I;m also interested to hear from all the people that are going tomorrow!
  12. 35 more hours for me- 7AM on Tuesday!!! Getting nervous because I have never had surgery before- but the excitement of a new me is winning over the nervousness.
  13. I think you should reply and see what she says
  14. It just amamzes me how many people fall for this stuff. I work at a federal proison and have several people here for organizing schemes where they scam money from people- millions in some cases. But still people fall for it- just amazing!!!
  15. Sugar free jello and popsiles have been my saving grace- I am Tuesday.
  16. Tuesday @ 6:30 would work for me- I work on Wednesdays until 9.
  17. Going for my final appt today before surgery Tuesday It's getting close.
  18. Happy day!! I am one week from today!! !
  19. I would doubt they would pay for your hernia repair only- most people that hve them don' t know they do and it isn't a problem unless it becomes strangulated.
  20. I agree- if you could lose it then why do the surgery- I think I would look for a new dr.
  21. I said that and was told that there is actually a child dosage and an adult dosage.
  22. Great idea- I'm going to look for one of those!
  23. I am being banded on May 7th I am going to try to go back to work that following Monday- but my boss is supportive if I need more time off I just need to call her.
