  1. Wow infection yikes..since I'm on the other aside now I wished I would have chosen bypass to begin with..in retrospect I really did research the band and was looking at less invasive surgery who would have thought I would be a band failure! Even the port being sewed onto the muscle want as painful a my cut muscle after bypass....agony for 2.5 weeks..
  2. My band recoveries were a breeze compared to this conversion and I had two bands! I had one issue with some dry Turkey that brought back memories of the band and getting stuck...talked to my surgeon and he said it's tight in there and I may need a scope in future to dilate the tightness...needless to say I stay away from dry anything.....
  3. Pam we all have different surgeons this is my surgeons protocol. He has his reasons for 75% weightloss before adding fruits and veggies. Most the people on this forum are eating fruits and veggies much sooner than myself. Intact I, don't see the nutritionist until 75% had been met.
  4. Good luck...you will do well.
  5. I experienced that, it was either low blood sugar, low blood pressure. Dumping is with palpitations, sweats and nausea. Sometimes I forget to eat because I'm not hungry and have to remind myself to eat most of the time. I get those feelings when I wait to long to eat. You might want to check with your MD/Nurse/Nut about this occurrence so you won't be scared...
  6. I really noticed my body change when I took this picture.
  7. naw just hop back on the Protein only wagon and you will be fine...Put your bode back into ketosis and the weight will come off:-)
  8. I'm not bulimic just miss fruit but for some it's a real head game
  9. I had bands to bypass intact two bands yes I had scar tissue and adhesions must people do it is a foreign object....they will clean up everything and you will be good to go...
  10. When the crotch started hanging I had to get some replacement pants. My comfort was to know I would NEVER see that size again :-)
  11. My vitamin e oil 5000 works fabulous all day no more dry skin :-)
  12. Stuffed salmon and organic spinach sauteed in extra virgin olive oil and sweet white organic onion....
  13. At MD office for what was suppose to be my one month check up post OP turned out to be 2.5 month due to scheduling issues (I am 100 miles from office). I am at 45% weight loss and need to be 75% to have veggies and fruit added in daily. Different requirements different surgeons.. They tell me I'm ahead of the game right now. The only thing is there scale and mine don't jive! I weigh naked in the am once a week. They weight me clothes on in the afternoon. Two pound difference, the good thing is my scale is most accurate from what they tell me.. :-) I will take what I git.....he he he I'm happy healthy and feel GRrrreat. I learned that band to bypass patients get spasms when drinking liquids especially water so don't trip out you newbies it's normal especially for us....the feeling is odd you will know. Now to find out why my gallbladder was not removed when the surgeon was adamant about taking it out so I wouldn't have troubles later??? More to follow.
  14. I'm saying "thank you" I used to ignore compliments just let them slip right by. My husband reminded me of how rude it was to not acknowledge someone's praise or compliment. We may not feel our best or even think we deserve the compliment but should suck it up and say thank you.....I've been a fat baby, child, adolescent and adult. Some people start off thin/lean and become fat over time/years for whatever reasons and some like myself never knew what it was like to be a little svelte. I was always supported by my parents, always told no matter what size you are you can look nice and dress nice. So I did. My biggest 250, size 22. Always received compliments then, I think maybe confidence?. Now 194 size 14 compliments are still rolling in I'm still saying THANK YOU but know I'm liking what I see in the mirror more everyday......HANG IN THERE FABULOUS FEB YOU LOOK MARVELOUS.
  15. Thank you I feel great:-)
  16. This book has great recipes.....
