  1. Hi Hun - How did you get I. - I was banded I was banded on the 13th September - I had a double hernia - 1 hietus hernia and one along my diaphragm !! I do struggle to get a deep quality breath sometimes - but had never made the connection ;(
  2. I can sooooo relate - I lost nearly a whole pound once lol x

  4. Hi Scoiterbug - out of curiosity how much calories do you have in a day - the reason I ask that apparently not eating enough calories can actually hinder your loss !!!!
  5. Hi Hun sorry for the delay in responding !! - I'm not a big lover of protein drinks either - Im from the UK. - so not sure if you have the same products - one if the things I do is to mix a bottle of Slim Fast with a spoon of a whey Proten Powder ! - This doubles the consistence and i have one half for breakfast and the other half for lunch. - That's 165 calories and 18g protein each - Then I drink a bottle of protein water which has 40g protein - That way I get 76g protein in by lunch time - Other than that I drink soups and suck sugar free ice lollies x
  6. Unfortunately I can totally relate to your hunger. i was banded on the 13th - I had a 10ml band and they put on 2ml at the time of the operation but I have no restriction whatsoever and so Im totally relying in my will power. There is another girl I know who was banded one day after me and she has already lost over a stone since bring banded because she can only eat ice lollies ! The only thing that I try to remember to stop me cheating ( I have had 2 squares of chocolateS) that the liquid stage is to help the stomach heal ! With my consultant if I do anything to hinder that and he has to operate again Id have to pay for it again and the bottom line is I can't afford to. TRY TO REMBER THAT ALTHOUGH YOUR EXTERNAL STITCHES MAY BE NEARLY HEALED YOUR INTERNAL HAVE NOT AND EATING SOLIDS CAN HAVE A DISASTROUS EFFECT ON YOUR RECOVERY XXXXXX Good Luck Hun x
  7. That's normal Hun - I know that's not much comfort - best advice I can give is to take liquid painkillers throughout the day even if you feel you can manage without it - That way you can get a good night sleep - which I found the most difficult - CONGRATULATIONS I was banded I'm the 13 th cx
  8. Congrats Carrie - Did you say you was moving to soft food after a week ? - what procedure did you have ?
  9. Glad everything was ok - Good luck with everything xx
  10. Please be careful Susie the need to be careful post op on your food choice is not weight related so it's almost irrelevant what your BMI is - its to do with allowing your stomach to heal xxx please be careful x
  11. Hi guys - I was banded on the 13th September and I remember feeling the exact feelings you are now. The best advice I can give you is as soon as you are offered pain killers take them and continue taking them for the first couple of days even if you're not in pain. It's not that the pain is really bad it's just so that you can get a good couple of nights sleep as this makes a big difference to your recovery xxxx
  12. I was banded on the 13th September - still a little sore
