  1. A delay is not a denial. Hold on and hang on. The devil seems to be real busy right now, BUT you can't let him win. There is some reason you aren't suppose to have surgery on the 11th...and not just because your surgeon "wanted to take off!" I know it's frustrating, but don't give up now! Just think...you're blessed beyond measure because some people don't even know about the lapband and are still suffering, struggling with their weight issues. Those times you've started the pre-op...did you loose any pounds? I'm sure you did. You're just getting a jump on dropping the weight and learning to say, "NO!" It's a liftstyle journery we're embarking on...embrace it and use it to your good! I'll be praying for you to stay encouraged! Blessings!
  2. Can you remember what it was that you held around your stomach? I've 2 other lap surgeries (gall bladder & spleen), and my biggest problem was going from a sitting position to a laying down position and vice versa. I will probably have the same issue. Wish I had my old bed which sat high...but I don't. My surgery date is 30 Jan...just trying to be ready.
  3. Hi Becks...I'm 1 day ahead of you. Keep reading the different threads here on LBT...you'll find comfort in those who are already banded. Congratulations!
  4. http://www.fepblue.org/downloads/2013-service-benefit-plan-brochure_100512.pdf This should put you on Page 62 of the Benefit Plan. It explains what needs to happen before you are approved. Hope this helps.
  5. I had my gall bladder & spleen removed laparoscopically, so I'm praying the Band won't be an issue. My band date is 30 Jan. And no one will catch me in the bikini either...everything ain't for everybody!
  6. Wow!! Wish I'd gotten approval that quick! Blessings to you for a safe surgery!
  7. Vitamins & supplements... What has your doctor told you to take after your surgery? Or to start taking before your surgery? The nutrtionist told me to take a chewable Multivitamin with minerals, chewale Calcium citrate (1500mg), sublingual B12 (1000mcg). I found a website http://www.wellesse.com/ which has several liquid vitamins & minerals. Has anyone heard of this site before? Any recommendations? I normally get my vitamins & supplements from www.vitacost.com but didn't know if there was something better out there.
  8. Congratulations! Keep us posted on your progress. My visit with my surgeon is 7 January. I purposely choose 30 January but reading everyone's posts, I want mine next week too! lol
  9. Hi Alice--I'm in Germany. Keep reading the posts on LBT. My date is 30 January and I'm feeling all of those emotions as well, but I'M SO READY!!!! We will get thru this just as the others before us. Stay prayed up and pay attention to the "hints to the wise" that those bandsters have shared with us. 2013 is a NEW YEAR for a NEW YOU! You're beautiful--and God wants your beauty to SHINE...SHINE...SHINE!!
  10. Hey, you're a few days ahead of me. Keep us posted on your success story!
  11. Brannwemee--there are new threads for us January 2013 bandsters! Look up pre-op & group forums. Congrats...My date is 30 January!
  12. I'm sorry to hear about you losing your spleen, but I've lived without my spleen for 8 years now. I had mine removed after the neurosuegeon I was seeing for the bulging disks in my lower back. On one of the MRIs he noticed leasions on my spleen. They asked had I ever been in an accident or something and I said no. So since the spleen is an organ that they cannot biopsy, I had to make a choice to live with those leasions or have it removed. I prayed and elected to have it removed. I have to have a flu shot every year (I'm in that group of folks that HAVE to have the shot..not the mist). If I get the flu, I have to be hospitalized and receive antibotics thru IV. Now I gt common colds, but I stay clear of anyone who has the flu. Oh and I have to have a pneumonia shot every 10 years. THat's it. I live a normal life without my spleen.I just make sure whatever doctor I'm seeing knows I don't have one. Hope my story helps ease your mind. You'll be fine. PRaying for healing. I'll be banded on 30 January..can't wait!
  13. My date is the 30th too! And I'm just getting my surgeon to wirte a doctor's excuse for me to be under medical care...it's none of their business what I'm having done. At least that's my opinion on that. I meet with my surgeon again on 7 January for more specifics. I have a friend here that used the same surgeon so she's been telling me everything she went through. I'm ready for a new me! Keep me posted as we get closer to "our" date!
  14. I'm happy for you Lynner99. Praying for a safe surgery. Please keep us posted on your progress. I have 29 more days...Band date is 30 January! Happy New Year...Happy New YOU!!!
  15. Happy New Year from Germany! To those like me who have January 2013 dates to be banded...my prayers to you for a successful surgery and a new YOU! For those waiting on approvals or just to make up your mind...YOU WILL GET THERE...JUST HOLD ON. I have patience, but truly learned patience waiting on those little green people at the insurance company to say YES! Speak positive, stay positive, be positive. If you know God...PRAY. He will see each of you thru this journey. I've read many posts and I have laughed, cried, gotten mad, sympatized and rejoiced with many of you through your expressions on LBT. And you have encouraged me to continue to move forward toward my goal. Success in 2013 to each of you. :-)
  16. Www.unjury.com & www.mybaraticpantry.com. I get my vitamins minerals n supplements from www.vitacost.com. Great prices
  17. The prayers of the righteous...the prayers of the righteous.. God knows the desires of your heart. I have BCBS and I kept feeding them information and then I got an email on a Sunday afternoon saying I've been approved. I did my happy dance!!! So I definitely wasn't looking for it when it came...but it was right on time!???„ Praying for you and with you.
  18. Congrats January bandsters! I'm scheduled for 30 January. Next meeting with surgeon is 7 January. Ready to get this lifestyle change in motion! Thanking God for my approval.
  19. Congratulations! I was recently approved too and my date is 30 January. I'm excited. I've been on LBT for the past several months and I've learned a lot. I've already been trying different protein shakes and working on clearing foods out of my house that I will no longer need. I'm ready for the lifestyle change God is preparing to give me! ???„
  20. Wow...since June huh? I'd be definitely excited too. I'm 46 years young and probably 40 of those years I've been overweight, with the exception of my pregnancy of my daughter. I lost 57 lbs during my pregnancy and delivered a 7 lb healthy baby girl. So congratulations on your date too. I pray for a new lifestyle change in 2013! Blessings to you!
  21. Best wishes to you! I got approved on 17 Dec. My surgery date is 30 Jan 2013. It seems I've waited so long for approval, but thank God I have a date now. I so wanted to have my surgery in December, but God has a reason for all that He does. So the countdown is on!
  22. Instyle98 - where do you find the orange sugr free kool aid? I've tried to google but I come up empty?
  23. I met with my surgeon today (& my internal medicine dr) and he wants me to see an endocrinologist to check my hormone levels. I tried for 2 yrs to get my old IM doctor to refer me and he wouldn't. My surgeon and IIM. Doctor want me to have the bypass, but I told them NO!! I live in Europe and most doctors here favor the by-pass over the band. But they are willing to support my decision.
  24. So...first CSR I spoke with LIED...I do have to go through the pre approval process even though I'm in an overseas location! So now I have to find an English speaking nutritionist (had found one but she wants me to do Herbal Life instead...go figure) ANSI have to find a psychologist. But a delay is NOT a denial!!! I will have lap band surgery. I will change my life. I will NOT be discouraged but encouraged. Ok...had to get that out. Now back to the drawing board to have my life-changing surgery! Keep me in your prayers please. I want to be a success story too.
  25. Is there a website for these shakes? I haven't heard of them. Thanks.
