  4. Sharon- you're tired and worn out because your body has no fuel. Get Protein in and get your fluids in. So important! I'll be 3 weeks out on Wednesday and its been a struggle, but definitely more energized when I get my protein, Vitamins and fluids in.
  5. DOS 10/17 248# Today 11/2 229# Down 19lbs!!!
  6. Surgery Wednesday morning and discharged Saturday morning. The doc said I could stay the last night because he saw how young my kids were when they visited and he said I could use one last night of peace! Haha!
  7. Everyone looks so great! I'm two weeks post op tomorrow. Had my surgery on 10/17. Down 17lbs and I feel great. Best decision ever.
  8. So, DOS was 10/17 and I'm down 17lbs. Decided to cut 11" off my hair, go a little darker, and start my new life with a new look! My clothes fit a little bit looser and I didn't see much of a change until this... Yay me!!!
  9. 3 days post-op! Here's a pic of my incisions. They are glued shut and I have minimal bruising. I haven't had any head hunger yet and still going strong. Got my 60g of protein from two shakes today and got 64oz of water too! Still quite swollen from the IV but that will be gone in a few days.
  10. Getting discharged this morning! Passed gas, no nausea, hydrated, and the drain is pulled! Yay! Best decision ever! No pain meds for 12hrs so far!
  11. 10/17 was my surgery and my drain is 90% clear. Walking about every hour getting ready for some clear liquids. It's getting easier and easier! Best decision ever! 10/17 - 244#
  12. Hey all, laying in the hospital bed and recovering some more. Walked today for a bit and the pain in my left side is pretty intense. Thank goodness for morphine!
  13. Tomorrow is the day! 24hrs from now, I'll be in surgery! So excited to be finally here and be healthy for my 35th birthday in February! Yay!
  14. Going for pre-op appt with doc tomorrow and my surgery is scheduled for 10/17! One more week! Ahh!
  15. New here and really love reading all the boards! Got a call on Friday that my date is 10/17! I just went in for consult last week! So exciting!
  16. Dr Wool at Barrington Surgeons. Pretty excited as I have an anticipated mid-Oct. date!!! Good luck! Just a few more days for you!
  17. I'm new here! Live in lake in the hills. Had my consult with the surgeon yesterday and trying to schedule my psych eval ASAP!
  18. TMF - thanks for the feedback. I didn't think about it from that angle and now that I have, coming back to IL for fills wouldn't be an issue and the insurance would be changed to a PPO so I don't anticipate that to be a problem. The surgery is 100% now, with my current policy with the exception of my co-pay for the hospital visit, depending on how they code it. I was just hoping that I could get the surgery done before the move...
  19. I just went ahead and decided to finish my last appt and then take it from there. That appt is on Monday. I'm hoping to get my referral appt in ASAP and get the ball rolling.
  20. Hello! I am new here (1st post) and will be going in for my 6th month appt next week, only to find out that bcbs took that requirement away? I did lose about 18lbs so I guess thats a good thing? I have an H M O so I need a referral to a bariatric surgeon from my PCP. I've seen a nutritionist already, in my 1-2 months. Is there anyone that might know the timeframe in which I can get in to see a surgeon and also what else i have to do?My insurance will most likely change by November, (relocatuon out of state) so I was hoping to get the surgery done by then... PleaseAdvise!
