  4. Hey everyone!!! My journey starts Thursday!! Its my consultation!! It feels like I've been researching and waiting forever. I already received the letter of necessity from my doctor..so I have 1% done lol What should I expect? What should I ask? How long after the consulation (on average) does it take to have the surgery? Another question... I recently started a relationship with someone I care a lot about. How long in, a new relationship, do you mention the surgery?? Thanks in advance!! Love this site ;0)

  11. As I've said in other posts.. My mother is a RN and a professor at a local college. she has worked in hospitals and has seen the horror stories that come with weight loss surgery. So we argued this morning, she said I could get a staph infection, a hole that won't close, internal infection, or even die. I started crying telling her to live one week in my skin. My mom is 170 lbs and I'm 320. She said well try something else I told her I did. I've been trying for years. I'm not winning this battle My mother is normally very supportive on my decisions, but she kept talking, talking, and talking... ignoring the fact that I'm hurting.. She said well Bre you're just depressed!! I said yes I am depressed, depressed about being TIRED all the dam time. No I never felt like a failure. I'm depressed because I want to live, have energy, get the job I deserve, and have confidence... I wasn't going to tell her, but I felt she needed to know. Has anyone else had problems with family support?? How did you deal with it??
  12. Everything you said.....LOL PLUS... I want to be able to WALK without pain!!! be able to get up without struggle, to have ENERGY!! to stop hiding and starting being the person I really am. to look like the rest of my family (everyone is average or smaller)!! I want to enjoy LIFE!!! Find  Love!! Have FUN!!
  13. Great JOB!! GO GIRL
  14. I'm not banded yet, but I am confident It will happen. I was interested in the gastric surgery years ago but never followed through. I attempted to lose weight on my own. My knees are severely bad (doctor said I have the knees of a 80yr old at 36), I have High pressure, and sleep apnea. Also I know this is for me because I have two teens that need me to stay alive. I am a walking time bomb, I know the lap band is for me because of the process is reversible. Finally, the process is a gradually weight loss rather than extreme or instant. Hope that answered the overall question.....sorry about the rambling
  15. Wooooww thats great!! Congrats!! WTG
  16. Wooooww thats great!! Congrats!! WTG
  17. Yesterday I told my mom and sister that I may be getting the lapband. My Mom was scared the minute I told I think because she's a RN she thinks any foreign object in your body is wrong. But I assured her that I would be fine. (Hopefully) My sister on the other end was very supportive, but told me a story of someone see works with who had the lapband and only lost 20 lbs My question is.... Do you feel the "Okay STOP eating" feeling?? Is it more prevalent with the Band? Rather than eating and feeling full after your second helping? How can one go through alllll the tests and appointments and everything and not lose weight? Could it be related to her fills?? Sorry!! I feel like I ask questions every day I use my phone for the forum so its hard to go through the archive to see if its been asked for Thanks in advance!!!
