  1. Had my first fill today and she said it was the "standard" first fill. Granted I said I did not want to over do it....just baby steps. Actually I feel no different at all. I will get another in 4 weeks.
  2. I actually had the same thing. My hubby works in a orthopedic office and suggested I get a x-ray. Turns out it was a pinched nerve from head position during surgery. Dr. Told me gas pain that intense does nit last that long, and nothing helped helped especially walking. Started Chiropractor regularly and mild muscle relaxers which help. I occasionally get gas pain in left shoulder after I eat, it is not nearly as painful as the nerve thing. I chalked up to gas pain for two weeks because everyone told me that is what it was. The doctor was baffled I let it go on that long. I should also tell you, I had two doctor opinions since I was convinced it was gas. I am 5 weeks post op and I still have tenderness in my left shoulder and neck. Good luck.
  3. Wow, speechless. I thank God everyday for seeing me through this process.
  4. By the way, the urologist told my husband many wl patients develop kidney stones and also gall stones
  5. My husband started getting kidney stones about 6 months post op. He was having a episode atleast once a month. His saving grace has been pure lemon juice water. He goes through a bag a week and squeezes the juice in a water bottle. He then drinks several glasses of it a day with the juice. The artificial stuff did not work. You can have a test to determine the type of stone. He ate a lot if okra which was on the kidney stone forbidden list.
  6. So not looking forward to this. I have seen my husband go through it many times.
  7. Everyone is different. I woke up with awful pain in my left shoulder and neck, that lasted over 3 weeks. I can clearly feel my port, under my right breast. I also had 2 hernias fixed at the same time. I still have tenderness in the port area. I was banded 08/08/12. Good luck.
  8. My surgery was not in a hospital but a "surgery center" with an adjacent bank and state farm. Freaked me out a little. I got there at 7am went to a little dr. Office type room around 8, was up walking around in recovery by 11am and home by 12:30. Looking back, I would have researched better and asked to stay over night. At home I was miserable, worried, and the next week ended up at the er in tears wondering if it would ever get better. I should note my husband had surgery 2 years ago, different doctor and he was home within 4 hours. His first fill appt, he found out his band had slipped and had to do it all over again.
  9. I am 3 weeks post op. Last week my doctor seemed disappointed that I have ONLY lost 10 pounds. No fills yet. I actually thought I was doing ok. 72 pounds to goal weight. Your thoughts?
  10. Thanks ladies. I am looking forward to feeling better asap
  11. So I am 12 days post op. I woke up with the worst shoulder and neck pain imaginable. I was told it was gas pains. Well guess what? I have been in the ER all night only to find out that due to positioning during surgery I have a pinched nerve in my neck!!!!!!!
  12. I am day 11 post op and my is just as bad as day 1. I have taking gas x, walked, meds, you name it. Nothing has helped!!!!
  13. I told my husband tonight that maybe I made a mistake. Since he was banded 2 years ago he understands my anxiety and promised it gets better. I hope hes right
  14. Banded on 08/08. I woke up on recovery with has pain in left shoulder, neck, and arm. Unfortunately its still there!!!!!!!
  15. Thanks bandsters. I am beginning to think I am crazy. I will try the ibuprofen first thing in the morning.
