  1. I'm a RN too! I have found 4 RN's here in the last few days that are having surgery at the same time. 4 days to go for me. We got this.
  2. surgery 12/27!! counting down the days!!
  3. congratulations and happy new year to you!
  4. I am having mine on the 27th too! I tried the protein yesterday (AMP Whey from GNC) and it wasn't too bad. I've done the powders before and to me it's just ok. I bought 2 flavors and broth. I hope I have everthing I need. My doctor didn't require me to do a pre-op diet. Only liquids 24 hours before surgery. I think this might make it worse because I feel like I have to eat whatever I will miss! Especially with all this holiday food around, ugh! I'm a nurse too, in dialysis and the patients won't stop bringing in all the treats! Please keep in touch with me too. I don't know of anyone else having the surgery the same day as me. )))
  5. WOW, You look AWESOME!! And I love the SMILE on you face in the after photos. Great progress. I can't wait to be where you are.
  6. I asked mine how many people he did the surgery on that have died, and/or had a leak after surgery. I was very happy to hear his rate on both is 0%.
  7. good luck to you too. see you on the other side.
  8. so i have read posts about when it is ok to drink alcohol post surgery but when do you need to stop pre surgery? with the holidays coming up and parties to go to, i don't want to mess anything up before surgery.
  9. yay yay yay for you!! congrats, it will be here before you know it!!
  10. wow, would not have even thought to ask this but im so glad you did. Lol. and now we know thanks to rootman. glad to know ahead of time.
  11. LOL. So my answers are. . .one week. . .two weeks. . .and three weeks. Sounds like it is ok whenever I feel up to it. Good to know, thank you.
  12. I went to my pre op testing and classes today and they did not mention how long after it will be ok to have sex. My husband went with me and he whispered it to me during the class but I was too embarrassed to ask int front of the other people. Was anyone told this during their post op discharge instructions?? Thank you.
  13. me 2!! just liquids and bowel prep the day before wihich is the day AFTER christmas. so glad how that all worked out. good luck to you!!
  14. Today I had all my pre-op testing and completed all my classes. The next time I make the hour drive to Cleveland will be my surgery day of December 27th. Omgosh, did **** get real today or what?? I signed the consent form and believe I started sweating. I was so happy my husband went with me so he could really learn about everything I am about to go through. Now, he finally gets it. I still have so much to do with Christmas in less than 2 weeks and my surgery two days after. It will be here so fast because I am so busy!! But I am so happy to get this ball rolling and start the new chapter in my life!
  15. pre-testing in the morning, surgery 2 weeks from tomorrow!!
  16. thank you so much for posting this. now i really know what to expect. im so happy you are on the other side. cant wait to be in your shoes!
  17. this is my biggest fear. i am a F (and i refuse to buy bigger so im probably a double F). i worry what is going to happen and how long i have to wait to have them fixed. this is the main reason my husband is hesitant on the surgery. i mean the girls are as much his as they are mine. how long do we have to wait to have the surgery to "repair" them?
  18. counting down the days! 20 days to go!!
  19. YAY for you! I am the 27th!! Good luck!
  20. So I was told I wouldn't have my sleeve until January but I got a call today that someone cancelled and my date is December 27th!! I got the last surgery date for the month!! So excited to join the December Sleevers!!
  21. FINALLY! Got my date!! December 27th. Someone cancelled and I got the last surgery for my surgeon in December!!. Woohoo!! I cannot wait! Three weeks from today!!

yay!! congrats on getting your date. i'm still waiting on mine ugh!! it will be here before you know it.
  23. Good luck! prayers your way. keep us updated on how you do.
  24. yes, it's either or, but they prefer the nutritionist.
  25. i did the three months supervised diet with my doctor. he was so cool. he dictated my letter right in front of me and stopped recording to ask me what else they needed. even though i did the three months with my pcp, cigna still denied me because i didn't see a nutritionist (even though their requirements say either, or). so i had to see the nutritionist too and resubmit. then they approved me. it is such a pain in the a##. best of luck to you. i know it may not seem like it now, but the next 2 months will be over before you know it.
