  1. So, I'm only day 5 post op, but pizza is my favorite food ever! And I realize it is not good for you and I by no means plan to eat it very often once I'm allowed to start eating solid foods, but has anyone had any trouble eating pizza with their band? I've heard that breads and pastas can be hard for people with bands to eat, so I'm wondering if this includes pizza? I hope not, lol.
  2. Yes...well they did for me. Idk if every doctor does it...
  3. I'm day 5 post op and I've been drinking tons of water. I've also been drinking chicken broth and Vitamin Water Zero. The vitamin water is really good. It's flavorful and gives you the vitamins you need. I've also had wonton(sp?) soup, minus the wontons and that was good.
  4. My first goal post op is trying to go the rest of the day with out taking the pain meds. I think I got to comfortable taking them and now if I feel sore it feels worse then it probably actually is. I've got 1 dose left in my first bottle and then I have a second bottle that I haven't opened yet. Trying to save some for when I start back at school next week. Man these past 4 days have kicked my butt :/ P.S. I have a YouTube account! I've made a few videos and plan to make them weekly my user name is erinmodonnell92
  5. I'm on day 4 as well and feeling kind of miserable. It hurts to laugh, it hurts to talk, it hurts to cough (which I have to do because of the mucus) and it hurts to sleep...it's been tough because i'm a belly sleeper and it would definitly not feel good to lay on my stomach right now:( its no fun, but a lot of people have said that it gets a lot better from here. I really hope so so that I'm not miserable when I go back to college next week :/ good luck and hang in there! Just know you're not alone in this..
  6. It only took me around a month, maybe less. (although my dad is a doctor and he has me on his employee health insurance..that probably sped up the process.) I'm so glad I didn't have to wait very long, that would have been torture!
  7. Thank you for all the info guys! I'm going to try my hardest to not get 'stuck' but now I'm a little more prepared for if I do
  8. Hello! So I'm day 3 (or 4?) post op but I'm already beginning to worry about getting those 'stuck' episodes. I've always been terrified of throwing up and even with a stomach bug rarely throw up. If I'm understanding correctly, when you get stuck you have to kind of burp it up, right? Is it really that bad? Is there anyone out there who have never experienced a 'stuck' episode? I want to avoid them at all costs after reading what it's like. Is that even possible? :/
  9. Good Luck! There's nothing to be nervous about so that's good just stay excited!
  10. I am 3 days post op and I, too, am feeling so hungry! Before surgery I was reading a lot of posts on here about how people were afraid of being really hungry but after surgery didn't really hungry at all. It's good to know I'm not the only one who feels like they're starving! And for some reason it feels different then when I was doing my pre-op diet. When I was doing the pre-op diet I felt hungry but it wasn't as intense as it is post-op. I'm not able to have anything mushy yet, but I can't wait until I can! Hang in there! I hope you feel better soon!
  11. Oh no...this worries me about going back to college :/ I just got banded on the 13th and I start classes on the 23rd, which means sitting through multiple classes most of the day...hopefully I won't be in horrible pain like you are :/
  12. My nutritionist said no soda, but, strangely, the day of my surgery when the hospital brought me dinner they brought me ginger ale.....so I don't know how good or bad it is for the band. But I'm not a big soda drinker to begin with so I didn't drink it.
  13. Yeah I've noticed that it gets better if I'm moving around; I'll try to keep walking. Thank you for the encouraging words!! Good luck to you
  14. That's really good to hear! Haha because right now it feels awful. I'll definitely try to keep walking! Thanks for the encouragement
