I was told I needed a cardiology clearance before I would get a surgery date (appointment for that is this afternoon) however since they feel I will pass that with no problems today, she has me going in for the UGI, blood tests and radiology tomorrow and an appointment with my primary dr on Wednesday. I was told I would more than likely get a surgery date in September.

Did you have proof of attempted weight loss to turn into the insurance? I didn't have any type of proof and I didn't have a letter from my primary Dr. Not that she wouldn't send one, but wasn't asked to. I called again today and they said it (the case file) has been assigned a nurse and that it is being worked on its just still showing as under review. The waiting for approval is sooo hard! I just want to know so I can figure out my next move , one way or the other. Thanks for the good wishes, they are greatly appreciated

I read in one of the cookbooks for RNY that the author took 1 vitamin E a day and that helped her. I haven't had surgery yet so just passing on info good luck that's a terrible feeling for sure!

Oh and I will have my surgery in Fountain Valley

Jen in So Cal- I'm still waiting on Anthem BC approval. They said when I called on Tuesday that there should be an answer by Monday 8/20. I am hopeful that I get approved vs denied. After reading all the different situations on here, I'm not sure what to expect. I was told by the center that I have excellent coverage and it should be no problem and the lady at the insurance said it sounded like I should be approved but until it's done there is no guarantee. So I wait It's nice to find someone here that had surgery with the same practice, I haven't chosen my surgeon yet. Have you had any major problems or complaints? Has the center been there for you like they say they will? Anything I should know? I appreciate any help given! Congrats and good health!

I think I would start journaling my food again to see where your going wrong. Don't be afraid to pick yourself up dust off and chase that wagon down to climb back on! Good luck!

I'm from south Orange County, CA My paperwork was sent in for insurance approval on Friday 8/10/12. I am going through the practice of Dr. Leport in Fountain Valley. I have Anthem Blue Cross PPO and I'm hoping the approval goes through quickly. I have BMI of 41 & have high blood pressure and diabetes. Are there any other So CA members out there?

Prenatal vitamins are known to help ...
