Surgery done but ohhhh what a day/night!
So my mom and I had our surgeries yesterday! She went first about 8am doctor said everything went great, then it was my turn. Everything came out perfect. I slept alot, some nausea, had some pain around port area, but no gas pain! My poor mom on the other hand couldnt keep any fluids down! Kept throwing it up! She felt great otherwise! So hours and hours go by and they did an xray on her and her stomach is so swollen, nothing can pass through the band! So she had to stay over night my dad and bf took me home and this morning and damn it hurts...especially around port area..walking, getting up, or sitting down, basically anything using your stomach muscle hurts!! This is normal right? I just took pain meds and put heating pad on. Any other suggestions?? Oh and please pray for my momma! She's in alot of pain

Surgery Friday and 16lbs down!!
Thanks!! Yes its mostly a liquid diet. For liquids we can mainly have Water with things like crystal light in it and stuff like that. 3 shakes. Then 2 Protein bars. 1 small serving of fruit (they have a list of what we can have and how much). 3 oz of protein (with a huge list of all different meats including egg beaters which I like to have 1 oz of in the morning for scrambled eggs!) and unlimited vegetables and unlimited sugar free popsicles and Jello. So I have usually been doing is 1 8oz shake and 1oz egg beater in morning. then Protein Bar for snack. then 2 shakes for lunch with a piece of fruit. Then dinner will have the rest of my protein with vegetables. Then for dessert jello and my protein bar (because its chocolate and feels like dessert lol) It's been tough...especially the first 3-4 days I was like OMG I'm so hungry...but whenever I would feel the urge I would just remind myself why I'm doing this...preparing yourself for surgery...and for the life afterwards..to be healthy!! I would also go on here..seriously...knowing other people could get through it made me think to myself If they can I can! You can do it girl!! Good luck!! See you on the other side!!!!
