  1. Thanks guys....I saw other posts that it "ruins your band". I didn't think that sounded correct.
  2. Ok...so I think I should limit my time on here because paranoia starts to set in after reading some of the posts I read. Its like everyone links every single issue they have to the band. I do have a question and if you can answer it with some evidence, other than "my surgeon said" (because I am quickly learning the vast differences in philosophy between surgeons) that would be great. So, my question is does gulping water cause any harm? (and I'm not talking during or after meals). I ask because since I was banded...I am often thirsty. Feeling ice cold water rush down my throat does the trick. So far I have had no issues whatsoever. Anyone have any thoughts?
  3. Thanks both of you. Everyone pretty much knows around me. I don't think most of them know how to be supportive. It's one day at a time.
  4. I was banded Friday, July 27th. I did a ton of research before I made my decision, talked to several people who have the band, and talked to 2 different surgeons before making my decision. Now that I have had the surgery, I find myself sometimes freaking out. I woke this morning and just started crying asking myself what did i do to myself? I can't tell when I'm full. I keep reading about people getting stuck, vomiting, hanging skin, and I keep thinking to myself, "this is what I have to look forward to?" Someone say it isn't so or give me a dose of reality.
  5. Don't mean to be gross, but how long was it after surgery until you had a bm?? I am 2 days post op and nothing yet.
  6. Hello everyone, I was banded early this morning. I actually feel really good and having no issues with liquids whatsoever. I even had a protein shake and went down and stayed down just fine. This is all good right? I do feel weird and a little sore. My only real concern at this point is that I feel really bloated, not sick or anything, just like everything is expanded. I have not had any gas yet, other than a few small belches. I have been walking around with no issues. So far does all of this sound normal? Thanks everyone.
