  1. Ok. Whew! LOL So I had my procedure and was in a great deal of pain at first. I stared at the clock waiting for the 8 minutes to pass before I could press my pain med button again I was groggy and pretty out of it. I took several short naps and one substantial one. After that I got up to try walking but was so "intoxicated" that I could barely stand up. I used the ladies room and laid back down. I stopped taking the morphine and took another nap. A couple hours after that, I was feeling much more with it and got myself up to use the ladies room and go out for a walk in the halls. Apparently I surprised everyone because they were all pretty impressed. LOL So now I'm back in bed, sucking ice chips and sipping Water, waiting for my husband to return with my daughter  I wanted to post earlier but just couldn't get with it. Thank you so much for all the prayers, kind words, and encouragement. It really means a lot. And congratulations to all the others that were sleeved today...We did it!!
  2. Wow...thanks guys!! I will be sure to let you know how I'm doing, etc. How exciting to share the day with so many others...keep in touch!
  3. My appointment is 7:30 tomorrow morning! I'm very excited...not a bit nervous, yet. I've gotten my house all cleaned up, my family all set for the week, etc. Now I just have to pack my bag and relax! I'm somewhat new to this site but just wanted to thank everybody for sharing everything. I think reading all this has really kept me from getting nervous. Catch you all on the flip side
  4. Thalia8- How long has your process been? How long were you required to take part in the fabulous pre op diet? LOL I have taken your advice and just tried to focus on work and getting the house and family ready for me to somewhat less functional. I will only be in the hospital over night though. How long will you be in? Yay! Two more days!!
  5. I'm nearing the end of day two. I'm not going to lie, I have cheated. Today I had three sweet potato fries - at least they were baked. I'm starving. LOL I weighed myself yesterday morning and this morning and so far, I have lost 3 pounds. I'm sure when I weigh myself tomorrow, the weight loss won't be as drastic. I'm having my surgery on July 23rd and am getting pretty excited!
  6. Hello, everybody! I'm having my surgery on the 23rd and today was the first day of my liquid diet...yuck! I'm pretty excited and nervous too. I still can't believe I'm doing this! I started thinking about gastric surgery several months ago and then started doing some research about it a few months ago. Less than two months after meeting with my surgeon for the first time, and I'm about ready to go! I'm glad I found this website, as I feel that we can all learn from each other and get some great motivation too!
