  1. Hi everyone! I just posted a new thread and then saw this one. Oops! I am looking for WLS friendly primary care doc in PDX. I am considering surgery in Mexico and would like to have a supportive doc here to help with aftercare. If you are happy with your doctor, please pass the name along so I can check them out. Thanks!
  2. Hi everyone! I really need to find a new primary care physician here in PDX. Of course, I would really like one who is WLS friendly or who at least has experience with WLS patients. Can anyone recommend a doctor for me?
  3. Hi, I have providence and am just getting started in the process. I was originally planning to go to Mexico and just pay cash. Today I was given reason to believe that I may get insurance coverage for the sleeve. I'll post more as I go through the process.
  4. I think you need more calories per day to support your activity level. You'll likely boost your metabolism if you up your caloric intake.
  5. I am pre-op and this is one of the things I am most worried about. NO caffeinated coffee? Not EVER again? Is this recommended due to the de-hydration side effect of caffeine?
  6. We could certainly do that! Are you post-op? I would be especially interested in meeting with folks in al stages of the process: pre-op, newly sleeved and veteran sleevers!
  7. Hi Sannah, I live in Portland and am looking for a support group to join. Is there one you are attending?
  8. Thanks for the responses! Are you able to recommend a primary care doctor who is sensitive to a WLS patient's needs? I am somewhat new to Portland and don't have a PCP here yet.
  9. Hello! I am new to the forum but have been lurking a while. I recently decided to move forward with VSG. I live in the Portland area and am self pay. Are any of you Patterson patients self pay? If yes, do you what your total costs were? what was the timeframe from 1st appt to surgery with Dr Patterson? If I can't afford her I may travel to Mexico. Did any of you Oregonians cross the border? Does anyone have a PDX area WLS friendly PCP you can recommend? Thanks!
