  1. I've kept my surgery very hush hush. I've only told my parents, 3 sisters, boyfriend and 2 best friends. However, my sister told her boyfriend (who is very narrow minded) and he told her he "didn't think I was big enough for surgery" and that I can "do it on my own if I tried harder". He thinks surgery is the easy way out. When my sister told me all of this, it really left a sour taste in my mouth. How dare him. He has lost a good amount of weight himself, but he borderline has an eating disorder. And I've been overweight for 21 of my 26 years! I've tried every diet, I need extra help and I don't think I should be looked down for it. I'm comfortable with my decision, and luckily everyone else around me supports me. 10 days and counting til my surgery!!
  2. I'm also March 1st!!! Today is day 4 of my Pre Op diet, and thankfully it's getting easier!! I'm allowed to have 4 Protein shakes (I use Premier), 1 meal of 4oz lean protein and 1 serving of non starchy veggies, 2 servings of fruits and 2 sugar free Popsicles if needed. It's not so bad, but it's hard to imagine it lasting 11 more days! Luckily we'll be on the other side of this soon!!
  3. Mine is 11 days from today!! So crazy!! Good luck girl!!
  4. My pre op diet is basically all Protein Shakes. It's 4 shakes a day, a small meal of 4oz lean protein and 1 veggie serving, and 2 servings of fruit. I'm on day 4 today and it's finally starting to get easier. My doctor explained it's to shrink the fat on my liver. If a patient doesn't stick to the diet and shrink the fat, he'll close you up and won't finish the operation For that reason alone, I'm sticking to it to a T!! After all of this, I'd hate to not have my surgery done! I have pretty strong will power, so although the pre op diet is hard, I know I can do it!!
  5. I completely understand your thoughts, I have them too. I'm 26, and have suffered from panic attacks for as long as I can remember. However I don't have kids (Kane is my bulldog) But I'm very close with my parents and 3 sisters, and can't help but think of "what it's" when it comes to the surgery. I often have racing thoughts that go from one to another, similar to what you're describing. I've found over the years, when I know I'm letting my negative thoughts get the best of me, turning on a song I really like and singing usually distracts me. I know it sounds random, but its always helped. If you ever need someone to talk let me know! We're all in this together! And soon enough, we'll be on the other side of this surgery and this will all be a faint memory!
  6. March 1st for me! I'm on day 4 of me pre op diet and feeling very blahhh. I can't believe I still have 10 days left like this! But I'm trying to stay positive and keep my eyes on the prize!! The Pre Op diet is definitely making this all feel more real..I'm so excited to be on the other side of this soon!! Woo lets do it March Sleevers!!
  7. You took the words right out of my mouth! I feel the same!! Day 4 and feeling very blah, I can't believe I still have 10 days left like this!!
  8. I'm on day 3! It's starting to get better! You can do this!!
  9. Chocolate Premier! It tastes exactly like chocolate milk!! I love it!
  10. Get it girl!!! You look fab!!
  11. Awesome!! I can't believe we're going to be excited for bathing suit season this Summer!!
  12. I can't believe my surgery date is 2 weeks from today!! I started this journey back in June/July! Back then I felt like this day was so far away, and now it's going to be here before I know it! I'm not so worried about the Pre-Op diet. I started incorporating protein shakes about 3 weeks ago so it wouldn't be such a shock to system. I've been drinking the Premier Protein chocolate, and honestly they taste just like chocolate milk. But ahhhhh I'm so nervous/anxious/excited to finally be on the other side of this surgery!!
  13. Hey lady, when is your surgery? Try looking at before and after pictures or youtube videos. I know it sounds weird but it's really helped me! It helps me go from nervous/anxious to excited for my transformation!
  14. Yay for March 1st! 2 weeks to go! My doctor didn't mention me going off my Xanax prior to surgery, however I have some pre op testing next Friday so I'll double check with him then. The past few days I've been super anxious, I think starting the pre op diet today made it feel more real to me. I'm trying to stay positive, I know this is going to be life changing in a good way! We can do this!! xoxo
  15. Mine starts tomorrow! My surgery is March 1st!! I'm not excited about the diet at all but I'm very excited for the surgery!! I've been questioning myself the same way about food! I've been eating super healthy during the day, and since Monday I've been letting myself indulge a little bit at dinner with some of favorite foods. So far I haven't gained a pound so I feel ok with it! Good luck!!
  16. Good luck everyone!! I start my pre op diet tomorrow!! I started incorporating protein shakes into my diet as meal replacements for the last 2 weeks so It wouldn't be such a shock for me! Hopefully it helps!
  17. 2 weeks from tomorrow! I start my pre op diet tomorrow..eeek! I'm so excited/nervous!
  18. I've been replacing breakfast and sometimes lunch with a protein shake, eating more small meals, focusing on my protein intake, stopped drinking soda, chewing each bite 22 times, taking small bites. The only one I've really had an issue with is not drinking during my meal, but I'm working on it! 16 days til my surgery!
