  1. I firmly believe that we make our own happiness. If you are this unhappy... and I feel for you... you need to get out. Is boobs and a new body going to change him???? Uh no!!! Pay off your crap and get out. If not for you ... then for your kids!!! This is a toxic environment for everyone involved.
  2. you look reall good!!!
  3. jessiam... how tall are you? What is your goal weight? The closer you get to goal the harder it is to get there. You know those people you have hated your whole life that say... I just need to lose this last 5 pounds!!!! We are now those people.. lol!!
  4. Ladies... hang in there and think about how the end result... surgery will be so worth it. I am so glad I did not have to do a 2 week preop. But know that we are all here with you and waiting for you on the other side. on the upside... it's almost like you are getting a colon cleanse...
  5. I too cannot eat when I first wake up. Power thru that first shake of the day. Sometimes we just have to suck it up. I am now drinking one cup of coffee in the morning... (I am 15 months out) and to it I add one scoop of chocolate protein... makes it taste good. You have got to get your protein in... it is the most important key to this whole thing. Dr OZ has even said protein in the morning gets your metabolism going full gear for the day!!!!
  6. I had to go to a seminar first. Then filled out paperwork there and made my first appointment. At my appointment they took the usual vitals... I was set on the sleeve then we talked about my history and I changed to RNY. Then the team at the office is in charge of insurance requirements and test scheduling. I was very proactive...it is a very busy office. I would call the coordinator or email her... get lists of docs that performed what tests.. make the appts myself email the coordinator back so she could send order to that particular office. If you wait on them to do everything it takes twice as long.
  7. It wasnt about the pounds so much for me.... dont get me wrong I am a slave to the scale... but when others started to notice... So for me around 60 lbs is when I started getting .. are you losing weight... lol.. I was that fat that it took 60 lbs for others to notice. I took picture of myself once a month and the pics where I thought I was looking so good.. now I look at and laugh and wonder what I was thinking.
  8. Hey tammy... missed this post the first time around. Good to see you... you look awesome. I had surgery 15 months ago and am down 186 lbs. I am fluxuating between 156 and 154... but mostly stay at 154. My date of surgery weight was 340. I am seeing that alot of the ones that were on the boards way back when stop in every now and then.... I think we get so busy with our new active lifestyles that we rarely have time to stop in. I think this is a great support group and I really like helping others. So hopefully more of us oldies will start chiming in when the newbies have questions. We are all success stories... share share share!!!!
  9. Waiting is the hardest. I hope you guys get your phone call today!!!
  10. See you on the other side... we got a spot open for ya... good luck!!!
  11. Everyone is different. Guess Im a wussy because I could not have gone back to work in 2 weeks. I took my full 6 weeks off... FMLA allowed it and I had enough sick leave accumulated. I could have gone back with no issues after 4. I am in my 40's too so maybe it took me longer then most to recover.
  12. wow that is quick... It will be here before you know it... Good luck
  13. A struggle I have even now. I think it must be all the protein we use. I was drinking smooth tea every other day... now I take a stool softener every other day... whatever comes out of me is like cement... yuck and tmi to some I know....
  14. Like most of you I have tried every diet imaginable. The smallest I ever got was a size 14. I was happy at that size. This surgery is different. I am a size 8 now and trying to eat enough now to maintain this weight. I am a big boned girl or thick and think I would look sickly any smaller. So, with RNY you will lose weight like you never thought. 30 lbs is probably making a bigger difference then you think. I know it took about 60 pounds for me and others to start really noticing. The smaller you get.. people and you will notice every 5 lbs.. lol
  15. You know that info mercial where it's a tool that lifts saggy skin... cant remember the name of it... wonder if it would help. I would be interested if anyone has found anything that works. I just keep putting lotion on my legs and stomach... I have tried lots of creams for my face that promise tightening. My skin feels great but looks like poo... so dont really think they are working. Turkey neck is better then double or triple chin Jen!!!!
  16. Hang in there girlie. The release of hormones as you lose weight changes who we are. Just power thru and remember alot of times it is mind over matter.
  17. low carb crustless quiche on spark recipes... all time fav.
  18. Totally agree with music... We all mourn food like a long lost friend and confidant. It does get better... I promise!!! I did a lot of self talking and read everything I could get my hands on... It is hard and I feel for each and everyone of you. I wish you could all skip the "wanting to feel normal part" ... You will feel normal when you are shopping in the normal sizes and running up and down stairs without feeling out of breath. So many great things are coming your way... I promise!!!!
  19. I have not touched it since surgery. I was sticking to a no caffeine rule too but started drinking one cup of coffee each morning at about 6 or 7 months out
  20. Had so many don't remember when the first one was... Look at the big picture... I've lost 186 lbs!!!
  21. I'm totally addicted to my scale!!! Could not go a day without weighing. I personally could not go without one
  22. Big waste of empty calories!!! I get being young... Can you not have a good time without drinking???
  23. Could be the sign of many things... Dehydration for one... I would call your doctor
  24. You look wonderful!!!
