  1. Good Luck to you Mendy, you and I have the same surgical date
  2. Your Nissen couldn't have been fun, when I read that I just said OUCH! hope all is well with you now. I was, 59 until yesterday, LOL I was sure glad to be done with that day! I want to wish you a great day tomorrow with NO...pain...gas...and a easy recovery! It's been fun talking with you and I hope you will let me know how you are when you are able. I have got to say that looking at your picture you could be either a double or sister to a friend of mine here in AZ its just uncanny. Deb
  3. Oh yes I'm really ready, I've been on hold for 5 months, I wasn't supposed to have this done until next month but the Dr. relented, hahaha...I went in earlier this yr to have a revision from band to sleeve but woke up with just the band removed d/t erosion, not sever but bad enough that they couldn't do the sleeve, So here I've been sitting waiting all this time and now it's finally my turn I'm not to nervous just a little antsy, but doing ok.I'm starting to look like a stabbing victim though, 5 scars from the band, 5 new scars from the attempted revision, and now I will most likely have 5 more, in the end it will all be worth it, I don't think I will be wearing a bikini anyways. LOL
  4. Sorry to hear that, I was a band to sleeve, I went in to have the revision and woke up with only the band removed d/t erosion, and was told I had to wait 6 months to have my sleeve. I know where you are coming from when you say you wish the 2 months would fly by, I have been watching the calendar everyday for quite a few with the holidays coming up , maybe it will go fast for you!
  5. Thank you, yes I live in Show Low, Az its in the White Mountains, and its beautiful here. Are you getting nervous yet?Deb

  17. Imlooznit: Thanks for the tip! it sounds like you are very low carb...See, I think that's your secret =), Thanks for the well wishes, I need all I can get. Hi Katie, You are just awesome I have been following you and you are an inspiration! You were I think the second person to contact me through this forum and have always been supportive and encouraging every time we talk. Congrats on your success so far, and I have no doubt you will get that 5lbs off and then some to get to your goal. I crave carbs also I think that's what got me here to begin with...sigh)))) and has me scared as I go forward, Oct 22d is my big day, and I keep looking at the calendar several times a day, I guess I think if I keep looking it will speed up hahahaha! So hey it's just 9 more days and it can't come fast enough. I have a busy schedule this next week, Monday is my B-day, next Saturday we go to my sons and daughter-in-laws house in San Diego stay until Monday morning when I'll be picked up by the driver and off to TJ Dr. Ponce and my VSG! It's really going to go fast when this next Monday is over with!!!
  18. So what was/is your secret, everyone has a secret, was it sticking to low carbs?
  19. All though I have not had my sleeve yet the post-op info that I have say 55% protien,30%carbs, 10-15%fats per calorie load, so I guess you have to calculate that with the amt of calories you take in.
  20. I've been thinking of you too!!! I sent you a PM
  21. Oh I meant to ask what recipe do you use?Deb
  22. You can always try using ground almonds for the crust, kind of like a gram cracker crust, I have used ground almonds in place of flour in some recipes and it turned out great..I get mine at the local health food store!
  23. If any one is concerned with the IV stick and afraid, I have a suggestion. The day before your surgery drink tons of fluid throughout the day, try to get in at least 1/2 to 1 gal. of water, this will make your veins POP!!! and it will go ooooooh so much easier on you
