  1. I am doing the 90 day multi-disciplinary plan for my insurance. I should be on day 38. Well, it seems my Dr failed to mention one or two things. While I did get the sleep study done, and the glucose challenge, Dr failed to mention me having to go to get a psych eval which requires 3 visits within the 90 days. So now, my calendar got reset to start July 12th.
  2. Thanks for the tip. I always have issues with adhesives and band-aids, so I'll keep that in mind. BTW- great progress!
  3. I just wanted to wish you luck. Please continue to come back here for support, encouragement, and understanding.
  4. OMG! I was just mentioning to my DH that I used to look at myself and think I looked like a fuller Jessica Simpson. Except, that I see now that I acutally look like Homer Simpson (what with my abdomen being all round and now being a pear-shaped instead of hourglass).
  5. This is why I never even thought about WLS until now. I know several people who did the bypass, and they looked like they aged twenty years before my eyes. I did not want to look like that. I considered the band, but my Dr told me about the sleeve. I have looked at everyone's pics, and haven't seen one drawn out face yet, so I feel better about the sleeve. Now, if I can only feel better about loose skin...
  6. I think you look great!
  7. I am three inches shorter than you, but about the same weight. My doctor looked me in the eye, before I said anything, and flat out said if I was looking to be 120 or so to forget it . It is not reasonable- too hippy and curvy and it wouldn't look healthy. I agreed with him. He said a realistic target would be 150ish .
  8. I live my fat moment every day. I commute to and from work on a bus, 45 minutes each way. I started noticing that I always seemed to have a seat to myself on the bus, even when crowded. Once or twice, people have even stood rather than sit by me. I finally realized that it is because people see me and keep walking because they don't want to sit next to the fat lady. It's not like I spill over either, it's just that it looks like I do because of my big upper arms (I keep them on my side by hooking them on my purse straps).
  9. No worries with that here- I am 5 feet tall but weigh 270! My BMI is over 50, and am prediabetic but probably diabetic (waiting for the test results).
  10. Just curious, I have Aetna as well, but I am doing the 3 month option instead of the 6month. Is that not an option for you? I have to visit with the Dr, NUT and Psych a set amount of times within the 90 days. The NUT put me on the modified liquid diet after the first visit. I am currently on day 31 of the 90 day plan.
  11. My NUT has me taking Viactiv as of now. I like them. It is almost like an indulgence. Between the Viactiv and my gummy vitamins, it is like having a candy treat each day.
  12. I have fibromyalgia, but take no meds for it. Even still, my Dr did not seem pleased during the initial visit when I mentioned the fibro. I am hopeful it won't cause any problems.
  13. Wow- I am reading posts for inspiration. You are defintiely inspiring! I am at the same starting weight and goal weight (just 8 inches shorter). Would love to hear about your routine.
  14. Hi, I am in the first stages of my journey, currently at 275. I had my first Dr visit and NUT visit. We are going for the 90 day plan for my insurance. My NUT has put me on a modified pre-op diet as of now. Funny thing, she did it before she realized that I was doing the 90 day as opposed to 6 months. Was she going to have me do it for that long? Is that normal? I get three low fat, low carb protein drinks, a small meal, and a snack per day. I know they want to shrink the liver, but this seems likes it's going to be really long time.
  15. I love reading this thread. It is very open, honest & informative. I am 5 flat and am at my highest weight of 270. My doctor straight out told me that, no matter what the medcal chart says, I am not one to weigh less than 140, and that might be a stretch. He says realistically I should expect 155 or so. I will be happy to get to that! I must admit my biggest fear is the loose skin, but I will deal with that when I get there!
