  1. I was banded 10/31/07 and recently had difficulty with reflux..had my band emptied until I had Upper GI done this past Thursday...doc will not fill me due to Hiatal hernia, doc recommends gastric bypass....depressed, confused and not sure what to do. I will be getting all the info I can to make a decision...any advice?:cursing:
  2. I didn't forget about you. As I said I will answer your questions the best I can and try to be helpful. I am 1 month out of surgery and feeling great, almost too good cuz i can eat anything without a problem. I have not lost any weight since the surgery, added a few pounds , but looking forward to the first fill dec. 14. I guess it's logical to go from liquids to 'real' food and put on a couple of pounds. I try to watch very carefully what I eat, but I don't feel full after a small meal due to lack of restriction, so it's a challenge. FYI: they don't weigh you before you go into surgery, so when I went for my 2 week follow up they were thrilled with the weight loss, but it was all lost during the pre op diet. I was not so thrilled. Anyhow, ask away and I'll do my best to be helpful. I didn't know anyone that went thru this before me and I got a lot of info from the website. It would have been nice to talk to someone.
  3. Did you say you're going through Hershey Med? I'll try to answer any questions you might have--I had a really good experience and I'd be glad to help.
  4. I was also banded 10/31 in Hershey, PA and feeling better everyday--pain meds are great! My biggest problem is that I am very bloated-- I look 9 months pregnant and the pressure makes my wounds sore. How can I get rid of the bloat?
  5. I am in day 3 of my preop diet--Carnation Instant Breakfast 6 times a day...my ankles are swollen, has anybody had this problem?--Should I be concerned?
  6. Hi! I'm Kelly from the Lebanon area, also going to the Hershey Med. Center-- This is very new to me, I went to the informational meeting with my husband on Feb. 6, I had my initial visit with Melanie Lowery 3/1, now trying to schedule Psych., need to go for EKG on 3/21. First monthly meeting isn't until 4/17 at the Middletown Office. Since you went to the seminar today, you probably found out that they don't say much about the lapband, let me know what you think. My husband did a lot of research and the lapband seems to be the way to go, and that's why I'm here--to learn all I can before I make the final decision. :nervous
  7. Hi everyone! I am new here and new to the idea of lap band. I went to my initial visit on 3/1/07 and was accepted to the program. So, I have started my 1st month and have to work on all of the other 'stuff'--my husband and I are looking into all the information we can find regarding Lapband before I take the plunge. So I look forward to learning from you.
