  1. I would not use peroxide. Joy4theJourney is correct, it is very hard on delicate new tissue. Call your surgeon's office to get their advice.
  2. Looks like her stats are listed as: starting weight - 375 today's weight - 277 date of surgery 4-24-12

  4. You look GREAT! I know that feeling. I am heavy in all my wedding photos - makes me want to renew my vows after I get sleeved just to get new skinny me photos! Don't want to sound cheesy, but I am so very proud of you! Onward and upward--

  7. I bet it would make an awesome popsicle too if you own popsicle molds (of course, I do...I have a 4 year old!)
  8. Here is a tasty little treat I concocted the other day and it tastes just like a liquid Almond Joy! 1 cup of Almond Milk/Coconut Blend (new product on the shelves by Blue Diamond) 3 tbsp. Hershey's sugar free chocolate syrup Mix until well combined....TASTY!!! Hope you enjoy!

  10. How do you know you are in ketosis? What are the signs, symptoms? Is there a test for that?
  11. I would explain to your husband that "shopping around" is not really what you want to do. If you are happy with the surgeon and team you have chosen, you should go with them. Shopping around may result in paying less but getting a surgeon you are not as happy with or doesn't have as great credentials. Always remember, you get what you paid for! I personally wouldn't risk it with this type of procedure. Just my 2 cents...

  17. How long did it take once your insurance approved you for you to have surgery? What is the typical wait time to get on the surgeon's schedule? I know if varies from surgeon to surgeon; just curious...
  18. I had my psych eval scheduled for September 10th; however, the doctor's office called today and asked if they could get me in 3 weeks earlier - don't mind if I do!!!! Funny how things work out and start to fall together quickly. Here's hoping they can get me approved through insurance and on the surgery docket by the end of September - woot woot!
  19. Kefir is a probiotic milk - very good for you! You can find it in the dairy section of any major grocery/speciality store.
  20. I have seen this posted on here somewhere, but can't seem to locate the thread. What is recommended to pack when headed to the hospital? I am going to be having surgery in the US at a bariatric center of excellence and staying 2 full nights, 3 days. Ready, set, go - respond with your suggestions....
