I am home now drinking my liquids and feel good...No pain from the gas (yet). My throat is sore though... Doctor only made 3 incisions. I have the standard size band and it was filled 4 cc.

I got the call from the hospital to be there by 6:30 am tomorrow...Surgery is going to be around 7:45 am. I'm soooooooo excited!

Funny... the nurse who instructed me about pre op eating told me the EXACT same thing!

Who was told to go on a specific pre op diet and who wasn't? I don't understand why some have to be strict and some don't...I know that in the end we all have to shrink the size of our liver, but why do some people not have to diet as long or at all?

I am having 2 protein shakes (breakfast and lunch) and a sensible dinner (low in fat). I am a bit hungry before bed time...

Tammy12 are you doing the pre op diet...If so what are you doing?

I'm the 24th too! Getting very excited...

My surgery is on a Wednesday 10/24. I am definitely taking off from Wednesday to Monday 10/29 ( that is my post op appointment ) . Then I will get a doctor's note and see how I feel. I am a high school teacher, so I don't want to have ANY pain/discomfort whatsoever...my job is stressful enough...

My insurance is Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield (NY)

I know every insurance company is different, but how long did you wait for an approval? My paper work was sent on 9/20...I am still waiting and hoping!

I have a BMI of 37.5 with high cholesterol and now I am waiting for approval... My insurance is Empire BCBS.

I am so excited that I have completed all that was necessary to file my claim to the insurance...I am hoping that I will be approved. I can not wait for that phone call! It's now out of my hands...Please, please, please approve me!

I have finally decided to have the Lap Band and improve my quality of life for the better! I am very excited that I have made this decision. My husband is very supportive and so far I have not told anyone else in my family or his... I know I will come across some negative people and I would like to know what to say and how to really handle them. Thank you for your input!
