  2. I used optislim instead of Optifast. I was not told which one to use. I just brought the optislim as it was cheaper. Good luck on your journey. Julezit
  3. Sorry I only just got your message, I hope all went well this morning.. Love to hear how you are. I Paid my $500 for my medibank hospital when I had my band out and as it is in the same calender year I don't have to pay any more monies except for Dr Dolan's out of pocket expenses.
  4. HI Weight_no_longer,, Thank you for your message, it makes me even more sure of my surgery and even more confident in Dr Dolan, I am being sleeved on the 25th September. Thanks
  5. I feel the same, met plenty that knows someone that knows someone ect... but never met anyone personally, so your welcome to come and meet me and then we can help and mentor each other, I am on face book under my name if you wish to add me, if you have Face book of course. I found Dr Dolan funny and charming also, and he told me I could have my band re-done but he added he could tell I was not happy with it and gave me all the info on the sleeve, which I had already research any way. I feel it would be the best for me, I had the band (not done by him) for 2 years and had a few problems with it.. so was not going back there..
  6. Ohh I felt the same way back in August when I was originally was going to be sleeved, but the time is going so it is happening this month, I am getting very excited now as only 20 days to go. Your welcome to come see me after the operation in Glengarry if you feel up to it, The date of the Operation is the 25th September, my name is Juliana Zito. I would be happy to meet someone else who is having the same operation, we could help each other with support and motivation.
  7. I too have had many operations, my latest was Neck Fusion July 20th which has a lot of complication associated with it, but nothing to do with the anaesthetic. I had my band removed June 15th and will have my Sleeve done September 25th that is three operations within four months. Take care, try to be positive I pray all will be good for you.

  16. Hi Elcee, The stomach had a small pouch below the band as well as above the band and the bottom of the stomach had bent up like a taco shell and was stuck with a glue like substance keeping the stomach from being able to go back down to it's normal position. He said he had never seen anything like it before and could not understand why I was not in more pain than I presented with.
  17. Hi Imagine923, I have just had the same diagnosis just recently.. I persisted for with absolutely no weight loss for over 1 year but I had been not able to keep any food down for about 3 months, I had Fluid removed a few times to no avail, the doctor I had kept telling me to keep following his diet instructions of no Breakfast, tuna or chicken only for lunch and the same for dinner with a cup of vegetables.. Yet I could not even keep down Soups or other soft foods. I got to the stage where I could no longer put up with the constant vomiting and went to see another doctor for a second opinion. I made the decision to get the band out and have it checked, which he did on the 15th of June 2012, The doctor informed me after the removal of the band that my band was pushing into my liver and my stomach had flipped up from the bottom to the top, (like a taco, as you describe) hence the food had no where to go accept back up and out. My GI tract is scared from the constant vomiting. He has told me to have 6 weeks for recovery after which he is going to sleeve me, he did give me the option to re-band but after what I had already experience I made the decision to go for the sleeve instead. I have another appointment on the 27th June for a review. I will update after the appointment with any other information. Good luck with your next surgery.
  18. Hi Whitty, I am doing the same I had the band done in June 2010, after much vomiting and constant pain and discomfort I had the band removed 15 June 2012 I was told by the doctor whom preformed the removal that I had a lot of complications going on inside with my stomach, liver and GI tract. I am now in recovery mode till August so every thing internally can recover and settle down, I am then having the sleeve done.. I did lose 22kilos with the band in the first year, then battled to lose any thing in the last year. I look forward to having the sleeve.
