  1. Just had my preop appointment with my surgeon (surgery Monday). He's says it's go time and just keep up with the liquid diet and lose as much as possible before the surgery so that it's an easier recovery and so that my liver shrinks. I told him I was a excited and scared..he told me he would be more worried if I wasn't scared LOL. Good Luck Everyone
  2. So my first week preop diet is over..it was really hard over the weekend...cheated a little with a celery stick and an ounce of chicken. Got on the scale this morning and I am down 11.5 lbs. That is just crazy! One week to go. I can do this.
  3. Yes, I am nervous too. So many thoughts going through my head. Thankfully I have a friend that did this about a year ago and have seen first hand what she can eat, how she looks and feels and also how her progress has been. I love this board but seeing is believing. But yes, I'm still nervous & scared.
  4. That really is the worst! I just keep focusing on 3-4 weeks from now when i can eat pureed stuff. Man is that going to be good. But today is a really hard day. Not sure if it's because I am not at work but I am a little dizzy and really really want to eat something.
  5. Thanks for the tip - Looks like I'm headed to Wal-mart
  6. Thanks everyone for your posts. I'm just over a week away from surgery and this was very reassuring. Have a great weekend.
  7. I'm so sorry to hear that....what exactly hurts? Is it the incisions or your stomach?
  8. I'm sorry to hear you are having such trouble. If I'm not being too nosey, why are you on bed rest? Did they have to convert to an open surgery?
  9. Thank you all so much for responding so quickly. I feel so much better knowing that you have had that experience. My c-section/delivery was quite the ordeal so I was hoping that if I could make it through that, I should be able to handle this. I get sleeved on the 24th so I'll report back, I'm sure with good news. Thank you for the tip on the heating pad!
  10. Hi there - I'm trying to get a frame of reference for the pain after getting sleeved. I searched the site for this but didn't find anything. Since I've had a c-section, I was wondering if anyone could chime in on their experience and compare the two. Thanks!!!
  11. That is great news. I'm happy for you - You'll be on the losers bench soon. I'm really glad you posted this because I go for my preop appt on the 19th - I have a fatty liver too and elevated enzymes so I was actually freaking a little that I'm doing all of this and it will be cancelled because of the same thing. Thanks for calming my nerves...a little Good luck!
  12. I'm on day 5 and I would kill for something to chew! So here I sit with a sugar free popsicle. How many shakes are you having? I am doing Bariatric Advantage and can have 4-5 per day. I have only been having 3-4 and the other day froze one and - that was pretty good. Today I added a banana and peanut butter to my chocolate 'diner' shake - it was good but this is still hard!
  13. So glad to hear everyone is doing so well! Good luck with your recovery. Keep us posted...it really is helpful for those of waiting....12 more days but whos countung! Lol
  14. Me too!! I am also getting sleeved on the 24th...plus I am freaking out a bit. Where are you having it done?
