  1. Good luck to you. Will say a prayer for you.
  2. Thanks for sharing your story. It's encouraging for those of us waiting for our surgery to read such glowing accounts. I'm so glad everything has gone well for you and I hope it continues.
  3. Good luck tomorrow!
  4. How do you feel, hunger wise? Are you feeling hungry all the time, or are your liquids satisfying you?
  5. LOL...EEK! I've been looking forward to, yet dreading this day to finally get here. At least when Wednesday gets here, I'll finally feel like I'm actually DOING something. I hope these next two weeks go by fast.
  6. July 11th for me. My surgery will be done by Dr. Brad Watkins in Cincinnati. I start on my pre-op diet in 3 days.
  7. I am so glad to hear that no food is off limits forever. I start my pre-op diet in 4 days, and although I haven't been splurging, I have been having the "good-bye forever" type thoughts. No matter how much you tell yourself these are foods you shouldn't be eating anyway, it doesn't make the desire go away. I love ice cream. The thought of never having ice cream was very depressing to me. I'm relieved to know that months down the road I'll be able to have a bite or two of ice cream! Thanks!
  8. I think that is great advice, Lila. I'm having my surgery on July 11 so I have a long way to go yet, but I'm going to try to remember your words about concentrating on how much weight has been lost instead of how much to go.
  9. Wow! That's fantastic. Keep up the good work. I haven't had my surgery yet. It's next month. I love reading success stories like this -- it takes some of the scariness out of the surgery for me.
  10. July 11th seems to be a popular day. My surgery is on that day, also. Good luck to all of us!
  11. Thank you. Good luck with the insurance approval and I hope you get your early August date like you want.
  12. Wow! 17 pounds...that's great! It would be nice if it were as easy as your son seems to think it is, wouldn't it? The problem would be staying on that type of diet for very long. Who'd want to do that? Not me! Good luck with your surgery.
  13. Good luck with your surgery Monday. How are you doing with the pre-op diet?
  14. Thank you everybody. Wishing you all continued success on your journey, too.
  15. Hello. Everything is moving very fast for me. I attended an informational seminar on May 31st, had a consultation on June 7th and have my surgery date already! I don't know if this is typical, but it seems fast to me. But I'm glad. Now that I've made up my mind to have the surgery, I'd rather have it soon and get on with it. My surgery date is July 11th...I start the pre-op diet on June 27th. I am so glad I found this site. There is so much useful information and it will be nice to share my experience with people who know what I'm going through.
  16. Congratulations! I just got my surgery date, too. Mine is July 11th. I start the pre-op diet on June 27th. I'm a little nervous about the surgery and the major life changes I'm going to need to make, but I'm excited, too. I'm really looking forward to being able to tie my shoes again without having all the air squeezed out of my lungs!!
