  1. I am being followed by my surgeon. He believes I have a kink that caused a stricture from folding and unfolding. I also have severe GERD. I have had Botox to my pylorus, and am doing my 3rd weekly balloon dilation today. The dilations have not done much. I believe the next step will be a stent placement for 60 days and my guess is this will happen next week. I am also being followed by a thoracic specialist i am hoping for a trial placement for a device called LINX to help the GERD. I have 2 complications going on. Thank you!
  2. i am in a very similar boat. I was actually doing good for awhile but at about 15 months out I started vomiting, a LOT. I have major GERD, but the vomiting is due to something else. Still trying to figure it out. I throw up anywhere from 5-20 times a day, it's pretty gross. The weird thing for me is this is about 7 out of 10 days. Every once in awhile I have a good day and can eat and digest normally. No rhyme or reason that I've found. I feel for you and also have huge concerns about losing more weight and a revision surgery. Scary. Please keep us posted.

  4. Sadly I believe to be headed that way. 18 months out from VSG..Severe GERD...About 3 months ago began vomitting and going days without keeping any food or liquids down. Approaching underweight and freaked out that a RNY might be in my future, at the same time I am freaked out about how much longer I can live with this vomiting and complete intolerence to food and liquids. My surgeon is trying a 3rd dilation this week, I have already had 2 and am not feeling better. He will try a stent next, then RNY. Feeling miserable and my body is crashing.
  5. I empathize with you, I have been having problems for the last 3 months after a successful sleeve surgery 08/2012 (18 months ago). I am approaching underweight and just want to be able to eat without vomiting after. There is a lot of talk of an RNY conversion but that just freaks me out.
  6. I had a stent placed 3 days after my vertical sleeve for a stricture. Immediate relief came with the stent. I had it in for 1 month and felt pretty much constant nausea. I then had immediate relief when it was removed. I am now 9 months out and doing well. I have lost 110 pounds and feel great. My only real complaint is heartburn without medication. This is being followed by a thoracic specialist and my weight loss surgeon and is do weakening of the GE Junction from surgery. Good luck, this will get easier.
  7. I would definitely give yourself a full 6 weeks. You don't want to rupture a staple line.
  8. Have they done anything yet?? I sent you a message and I share a very similar story. I had surgery on 8/6 and had a stent placed 8/10 for a stricture. It did help although I am still nauseous and miserable (in part maybe from the stent), but SO much better then I was initially. They need to do something for you if they haven't yet. So sorry you have to go through this.
  9. Have you heard of PB2? Check Amazon.com or your local store. I am actually allowed this immediately after surgery and love it in my chocolate nectar protein shake. 2TB PB2 - 1 scoop protein mix - 2tsp of SF Banana Coffee Syrup & 1/2 cup milk. Ymmmm!
  10. I am going to join the club. I am set for a August 6th surgery date with Ross McMahon in Seattle, WA (Swedish Hospital). Nervous but excited!
