  1. Queen of Crop lives in Hawaii. Or at least she did for some time. Maybe if you PM her you might get a response.
  2. As much as I hate debt, in this particular case I don't dissagree. Bubbles, I completely understand that you are discouraged and understandably so. You just got kicked int the teeth, HARD. Please take a couple steps back and try to see your situation from the outside. There are always options. You seem pretty convinced that without this surgery your time on earth will be short, if this is the case, you have nothing to lose. Do you own your home? Do you have a decent car? Do you have a retirement plan? How is your credit? I am pretty hard nosed against debt, but I would give up everything I own to save my life. This is a drastic idea, but, I would go as far as to move into a basement apartment, give up my cars & creature comforts. I know a person can survive on well under $1000/month. How quickly could you save up for Mexico surgery that way? I know none of this sounds appealing, but if you are willing to sacrifice big now, you can make this happen.
  3. Exercise and keep hydrated, and exfoliation. Also be aware that skin will shrink slowly, but it will continue to shrink for approximately 2 years after your surgery date. So there is a good chance that the loose skin you have at the 6month mark may still go away.
  4. Be ready, I didn't get my first stall till I was 3 months out. Then, I spent 3weeks at 210 and this makes my second week at 205. Good thing for me I'm a very optimistic person. And I've spent enough time on this forum to know that this won't last forever(even though it does feel like it).
  5. Whoo Hooo!!! celebration!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTZ0LTfxBy0&feature=youtube_gdata_player
  6. Smoked turkey leg & collard greens. If that ain't good eatin' I don't know what is. Pre-op it would have also had Mac-n-cheese & a couple rolls. And it would have all been 1 meal. (after lunch & dinner somebodies dog will likely get a bone with about 1/3 of the meat left on it.
  7. This is a debatable subject. My opinion. If you measure and only eat the measured portion they are fine. But be aware you will likely not feel satiated very long as the liquid content will allow them to pass throught the stomach rather quickly.
  8. There is nothing wrong with caffeine in moderation. Just like anything else. If you make it a daily habit, then it becomes a crutch & a detriment to your health. I personally do occasionally drink green tea which has a small amount of caffeine & once or twice a month when I know I will be driving late I will have a 5hr energy shot, which has a ton of caffeine. One thing I can say though. Since I abstain from caffeine most of the time, when I do use it, it is so much more effective.
  9. This is completely normal. The incision sites are sutured internally with dissolving sutures. They will smooth out over the next couple months.
  10. My surgery date was 5/23/12 Shirt size XXL Waist 46 Today 131 days later Shirt size L Waist 32/34 I'm really starting to think I might just get back to my highschool 28" waist again.
  11. Since March 1, 2010, all U.S. citizens – including children – have been required to present a valid passport or passport card for travel into Mexico. While documents are not routinely checked along the land border, Mexican authorities at immigration checkpoints approximately 20 to 30 kilometers from the border with the U.S. will often conduct vehicle and document inspections and will require valid travel documents and an entry permit Funny, the US government says differently. http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_970.html
  12. Losing too much weight Having too much money My car being too fast All problems I think I could live with.
  13. Everybody gets stopped, the vast majority of the border guards just want to verify your citizenship. However the actual regulation requires a passport. If you happen to get a hard ass or a rookie that is hellbent on the rules then they can detain you till they get positive identity or they could require you to get proper documentation from the American consulate.
  14. Thank you!! Most people are under the impression that women need more because of the big osteoporosis campaign with Sally Field.
  15. When I went to Applebee's I just told my server that I don't eat potatoes, pasta, rice, bread, or anything fried. I ordered the portobello chicken, and the server substituted my potatoes for a large mushroom cap. I ended up taking 2/3 of the meal home, but everything I got fit into my diet.
  16. Actually it's the same for both sexes. 1000mg/day till age 50, then 1200mg/day after. http://www.osteoporosis.ca/index.php/ci_id/5535/la_id/1.htm That link might help some.
