Just Got My Approval, Waiting For Date... But Scared To Tell Anyone
The only people who know are my husband of course, mom-cause she's so nosey! And one of my close friends who I've known for 20 yrs. I'm not telling anyone else and when it's time to have my surgery and people wonder I'll just say I'm going have my gallbladder removed lol!

Consult Done Today!
So I went in today for a consult today. They verified my insurance covers the procedure, I was told I only need a nutrition consult and psych eval. And I scheduled both for tomorrow! The dr. was awesome! I really felt comfortable with him. He asked how soon I wanted surgery done and I said as soon as possible and he replied 'well we will try to get it done this month!' *Fingers crossed*. I also started a vlog on YouTube where I will be documenting my journey

Hiatal Hernia... Anyone Have Theirs Surgically Repaired?
- Heal Time??
For those who have had the surgery, what's your heal time? If you have an office job, are you comfortable enough to go back to work after a week? What about driving?- Pre And Post Op Diet
Whew! Glad to know I'm not alone with this. I won't let it get to me because I know I have to do right to make this work. But giving up steaks, burgers and brownies hmmm! It's worth it tho. Especially if it helps eliminate my high blood pressure- Pre And Post Op Diet
It is secretly terrifying me! I'm scared that I won't have the willpower to do it, binge eat on brownies and get sick! Anybody else dealt with some type of anxiety about following diet? That is bothering more than the actual procedure- First Consult Monday!
Thanks! Good luck to you too! I hope everything continues to go smoothly because today was too good to be true. I'll keep y'all posted on my journey- First Consult Monday!
Yaaayy! I'm so excited! Finally heard back from dr office today (after being impatient, it's just been two days) and my insurance covers the surgery. I have to see a nutritionist and have a psych eval for when they approve it. And criteria bmi >35 with one or more co morbidity! My bmi is 38.4 and I have hypertension, so I hope this process goes fast! And I have a scheduled surgery date by July.- Experiences With Blue Cross
Thanks Cocoa! I'll make sure to tell the surgeon to request those. She put me on that program because I wanted some adipex and since I have high blood pressure she refused and tried the diet instead :-\- Experiences With Blue Cross
**update** so I called my insurance company and I definitely meet the criteria, they emailed me over some specifications. Just waiting on this slow moving dr office. Trying not to be impatient but I'm thinking about trying another dr- Experiences With Blue Cross
Thanks for the input, it seems it depends on what bcbs you have in the certain state. I have bcbs ma and its an epo. It's an awesome plan as far as other services I was wondering how flexible it is regarding a weight loss surgery. I personally don't want to do the diet... I've tried SO MUCH that doesn't work. My gyn even had me on this weekly supervision weight loss program and it didn't work smh! Thanks for y'all help- Experiences With Blue Cross

Thanks again! I called the office today because I'm so impatient and the receptionist told me my fax didn't go thru with my insurance info, I was mad because I'm thinking why she didn't call!! Glad I did! Y'all I'm nervous but it's a good nervous I really think this will be a positive life changing experience :-)- New To All Of This
Thank you all so much!- New To All Of This
Hi everyone! Well I'm in the very beginning of this process. Waiting on my insurance approval now. I've struggled with weight loss for years and I'm only 31. No one understands the struggle if they haven't dealt with it (skinny folk lol) exercise, dieting, diet pills- you name it I'm sure I've tried it. I've always knew of lap band just didn't think of actually trying it until the last few months. So I'm here for support, advice and link up with people who understand that being overweight is something hard to deal with just as having high blood pressure or another type of medical condition. In my opinion. It's something we have to wake up everyday to and deal with every moment of the day - Heal Time??
