The Top 5 Things You Will Not Miss After Vsg
Also... - I will not miss seeing my beautiful engagement ring sitting in my make-up drawer instead of on my finger. - I will not miss people being dismissive of my intelligence, beauty and drive bc I'm fat. - I will not miss my feet being so swollen they hurt at the end of the day. - I will not miss feeling like the massage therapist, chiropractor and my husband simply MUST be disgusted by my fat body. - I will not miss being ridiculously self-conscious when walking by a group of people, especially of they're teenagers.

How Would You Respond?
You do whatever feels good to YOU. You have no obligation to be a spokesperson for WLS or anything else that makes you uncomfortable! I'm such a blabber mouth usually, but I've only told my closest girlfriends, one co-worker, my boss (so many appts!) and my husband of course. I fully expect that I'll be telling everyone within earshot once I've lost considerable weight, even perfect strangers! I was very open after struggling with infertility, and I'll likely be the same with WLS. At the end of the day, it's an intensely personal choice and you'll do what's right for you. Those who matter don't mind and those who mind, don't matter!

The Top 5 Things You Will Not Miss After Vsg
- I will not miss feeling self-conscious while eating out bc other people judge what the fat person is eating. - I will not miss the burden of being "funny" so that people 'won't notice' my weight. - I will not miss feeling GINORMOUS while walking into the ocean and coming back out with my bathing suit on. - I will not miss the spectacle that is me getting out of a beach chair, low car, deep sofa or blow up mattress. - I will not miss being the 1st person to sweat in any situation and knowing that others know it's bc I'm fat.

Stomach Size
Same here, I'll be on full liquids (no food) for 2-3 weeks after surgery.

How Would You Respond?
I always like to answer those questions with a question or some vague 'answer'. "What a weird question." "What difference does that make?" "Our family is nuttier than a fruitcake!" "It's hard work losing 50lbs!" "What do you think of the pics I posted?" "I must look GOOD if I'm the subject of gossip. Whoo hoo!" At the end of the day, it none of anyone's business and you don't have to tell ANYONE.

Psych. Appt.
Wow! I guess I was really lucky to have such a quick & easy appointment. No puzzles or quizzes for me either! I feel fit those of tounwhomhad tongi through that. But we're all one step closer!!!

Psych. Appt.
Had mine today! Only 30 minutes and easy as pie. 400 questions??!! We basically chatted (he and his wife have had the surgery!) and he asked the basic questions.

Louisiana Sleevers?
Had my psych eval today and that's my last appt!!! He said he'd send his report tomorrow; I'm hoping he really does. Then...I WAIT...
-
Best Blender?
Because I'd don't have $300 to spend on a blender right now and I want a small, cheap one! I was very specific in my request but thanks anyway.

Louisiana Sleevers?

Why Are There Always Hoops To Jump Through?!
It's tough to gauge tone of "voice" with only typed words. If you have questions, it seems like have several HR people in the forums willing to help. I'm sorry your HR person isn't responsive; I can see how that would be really frustrating. Good luck to you.

Why Are There Always Hoops To Jump Through?!
I was trying to understand what you were asking so I could OFFER HELP. I'm an HR person and could maybe answer questions or give advice or help you manage your STD claim process. However, it sounds as though you don't need help and just needed to vent. Sorry I asked.

Best Blender?
Hi! I'm looking for blender suggestions. Ideally I'd like something relatively inexpensive ($60 or less) that isn't ginormous. I'll mainly use it for shakes and purée post-op. I thought buying a blender would be pretty simple, but 'Geez Louise!', so many choices!!

4 Weeks Out/up And Down With Weight
I saw that advertised and wondered if it would be good! Has anyone tried it?

Why Are There Always Hoops To Jump Through?!
What exactly is your issue?

Louisiana Sleevers?
I have all of my appointments set up and will be DONE with them on August 29th!!! Then the really tough part comes...the waiting for approval! I won't be able to schedule surgery until October 8th or later due to a trip DH already has planned, but I still want that approval in hand...

Louisiana Sleevers?
Confession Time: I've been "window shopping" online looking at cute clothes and wondering what size I'll end up being post-surgery. I haven't actually bought anything but I really want to!

Louisiana Sleevers?
Baton Rouge here! I hoping to have my surgery in October.

Doesn't Seem Real Yet...
Did they not give you the 3 month option? Aetna has a Clinical Policy Bulletin for obesity surgery that lays out the criteria in detail. Maybe your company requires the 6 month route?? If you Google 'Aetna Clinical Policy Bulletin Obesity', you can find it easily...

Doesn't Seem Real Yet...
Aetna here too! I had my 1st "official" doctors appt last Tuesday as well as the 1st nutritionist appt on Thursday. I've had all my labwork, the EKG, the chest xrays and the Upper GI done, too. Now I have 2 more surgeon & nutritionist appts, one visit with a physical therapist, the psych eval and a 2 hour nutrition class and I'm done. The surgery is ALL I can think if and I'm so flippin' nervous that I won't be approved!!!! I think I'll just be crushed...

Louisiana Sleevers?
I swear I'm going to go CRAZY during this insane 3 month wait!!!

Any Drs in Louisiana used and Cost??
For those of you in or around BR, who did you use for your psych eval? Did you just have to pay your co-pay?
